Domain sale phishing??
Whats the deal with those emails that ask if you'd like to sell your domain? Most of them come from yahoo.co.uk address. Is there any known scams associated with these?
|
My thought is that they are looking for emails that bounce, perhaps looking to pick up those domains and take control of other domains. They may also be looking for undeliverable mail before they make an attempt to move a domain without permission.

They are looking for idiots to sell WAY too low. Apparently it's a good source of cheap domains to resell - judging by the amount of money these names are fetching on the flip.
There are a couple sellers on here associated with people who do that. Though I'm not naming names or pointing fingers. :yinyang |
Also there's the old 'before I buy please get your domain appraised at this site' scam.

I have gotten some offers by mail for domains that make me about spit up... one guy offered me $100 for a desirable 4 letter .com, another $150 for the same.
They claimed to be from the middle east or something... it was too weird. |

I actually wrote "it's a good source of cheap domains to resell" - good is (believe it or not) a positive term. |
