Wich character to startup with and why ?

Hit me up on ICQ I will let you guys know which server I am on and give you some great start up tips. I have a few 60s and played just about every class.

all jokes aside, start with a warlock. They are damn powerful but it's not an "easy" character per say. If you are looking for a relaxing class, go with a rogue or something. But then there are too many rogues and not as many warlocks. And warlocks >> rogues

been playing since the beta in 2004, and it doesn't have to take over your life like so many say.

What kind of game player are you? Do you like to cast spells and stuff? Do you like to get right in there and 'fight' to the death with a variety of weapons? Do you want to have pets fight for you and shoot with a bow/gun, etc? Do you want to heal others? You also have to pick, Alliance or Horde? Good or bad? :winkwink:

There are quite a range of characters and they're all good for one reason or another, so it's hard to make a suggestion without knowing your playing style.

I got a lv45 human Warrior on Kul Tiras Euro.

Any class is fine. What matters is what role you want to play.

You still play Hockey. FUCK MAN you have been playing that for what like all 45 years of your life haven't you!? Damn bro you must be addicted! :1orglaugh

I'd say mage.. make sure you do alchemy for profession, but mage/shaman would be the best two choices

Mages are pretty easy. Warlocks are not hard at all either. Many people think that they are but I started the game with a warlock and went to the shaman and now I am back to the warlock more often.

For starting professions I highly suggest Mining and Skinning or Herbalism and Skinning. You may or may not stick with these in the long run. But these are great money makers to begin with. Getting that starting coin when you are new to the game is essential. Even if it is just for larger bags to carry all the crap you compile as you run around

I agree totally about the playing style. Just keep in mind that the Horde is good and the Alliance is evil.

But seriously, if you dont have a strong willpower, stay the fuck away from this game. It will suck the life out of you.

I'm dead serious.

I played the game for about a year. I had a lvl 60 rogue, a lvl 60 hunter and a lvl 40 Warlock.

Character really depends on what you want to do and what role you want to play in the endgame content. Meaning, when you get to the high levels pretty much all that is left to do is high level group raids and PVP (fighting against other charcters) . I did this with my rogue and had some pretty sweet gear.

If you want to do massive damage in hand to hand rogues are good. If you want to be the guy that is the tank and lets things pound on them while the party kills it a warrior is good. If you want to be the healer go druid, priest or paladin. If you want to be a caster then mage or warlock. The druid and shaman are kind of a mix of everything. they can wear decent armor and cast and heal. The hunter is a ranged damage character.

My advice:
If you just want to play by yourself and sometimes do group stuff then a hunter or warlock are probably best because you have a pet for help and you can do some decent damage (high level warlocks can do massive damage)

If you want to play more in a group, warrior and priest are great. When you get to the higher levels you will never find yourself waiting to get into a group as one of those two classes because everyone wants them.

I stopped playing the game a few months ago because it took up too much of my time. You can play the game casually, but it is time consuming just to do anything. If you log in and want to go somewhere it can take you 10-20 minutes just to get to a place on the map, especially at low levels when you have walk. When you get to the high levels a group raid can easily take 2-4 hours.

P.S. if you do decide to play and want to have engieering as a skill, hit me up and I'll show you how to make mass gold with it.

My Arms Warrior out-DPSes Rogues in evey party i play. And i can wear plate armor and take ungodly beating.

yeah, it all depends on a your spec. There are DPS warriors out there that can do huge damage and have a big armor class. Most of the high level raid main tanks end up going protection spec and using weapons and armor that increase defense. In those cases they can't do a lot of damage, but when you get a defense of 450+ you can really take a pounding. My rogue was a dagger rogue. I wasn't too good at PVP because I would have to work to set-up backstaps, but in raids I rocked because I had great gear and could just stand behind and backstab through the entire fight.

Horde or Alliance?

Play Horde on a PVP and kill ever fucking Gnome you see. I FUCKING HATE GNOMES!!!!!!

Undead = very popular for Horde.

A mate of mine got so addicted to that fricken RPG he ended up selling his pc as the only way out of the habit lol. Stay well clear of it if you have an addictive personality.

UT2K4 much more better.

The game stole a year of my life that I will never get back. It is a highly addictive game... stay away from it if you value your sanity.

I got addicted to a much lesser RPG for 2 years.

*shrug* I have a bunch of 60's ... I mostly play my Rogue on Twisting Nether. I enjoy ganking.

No worries about that for me .. I have way too much work to have time to get addicted.

within our office, we have like 30 epic characters, some almost full tier 3

been in BC Alpha and am in the closed beta right now.. can't say much about it but it's definitely GOOD STUFF

Most enjoyable time these days is playing twinked out level 49 Hunter in WSG, love kicking the ass of HORDE :321GFY :winkwink:

I play all the time as a 60 mage we are almost finished with MC need to fight Rag and just tried our first Onyxia got to phase 3.

As a startup I would say do what sounds the best to u. Read up and find what you will not mind playing for a long time and fits into what u like best about being able to destroy things. Each class has it's upsides and downsides.

I say roll mage ;-)
