Dawn of the Dead

Anyone see this movie? I just saw it for the 15th time tonight and still loving it like the first time... a true classic.

If youīre a horror freak like myself, get the Anchor Bay DVD release..

Dawn of the Dead U.S Theatrical Cut... by far the best cut.

Pornwolf 07-06-2002 11:33 PM

Good shit! George Romero is a horror king!

Fletch XXX 07-06-2002 11:39 PM

Has anyone seen it? I'm guessing the movie's older than you hehehe

Of course, Romero is one of the best horror minds ever.

NO doubt, cult classic along side Night Of The Living Dead his black and white. And of course Day of the Dead... and Return.

Yummy. I have all the DVDs.

I'm watching/listening to C.H.U.D.

:1orglaugh

:thumbsup

Eh DUH! i was just saying, since 99% of the people i know (that are WAY older than me) havenīt seen it, and i think is a gem.

On the other hand, older people clearly recalled watching Dario Argento movies... BTW "Deep Red" kicks ASS.. get that one on DVD!

All the movies that i truly love are *older* than me :thumbsup

BTW Fletch, wich version of NOTLD do you have?
I just got the Elite Disc Millenium Edition... sweet as pussy i might add :winkwink:

MiLo 07-06-2002 11:58 PM

Fletch, are you talking about THE C.H.U.D?

Yeah Horror fan to say the least. Have even dabbled in prfessional make up, and Haunted House design.

As for NOTLD, I am convinced I am the only person with 3 seperate versions, but everytime I try to prove this theory, I am either too stoned to catch the differences versus similarities, or my disbeliever friends are too high as well, damn herbs.

Anyhow, I am probably wrong about the 3 versions, as I know of only 2. I have them both on DVD and I have 3 different VHS copies of it with different covers etc from over the years of ripping off local Rent A Vid places as I have moved across the country o'er the years.

Actually NOTLD was one of my first DVDs, I ever purchased.

:thumbsup

Yeah, that's it. Again, cult favorite, there's nothing more appealing to the horror world, than the government covering up something in the sewer that turns into something thats going to take over a) the world, b) at least kill everyone in the neighborhood.

I watch cheesy horro movies everyday, had a friend who worked at Tower Video and Second Spin here in SoCal and he USED to kick me down killer deals, but they fired him. Caught him smoking herbs on the job, told him not to.

Anyhow... man im high. Sorry, i gotta get back to a design.

Love the horror chat though.
:winkwink:

Dawn of the Dead is one of my favorite movies since I was like 10... lol, perhaps leading to me being a bit warped. What a great movie!!

I grabbed NOTLD.COM to make a Night Of The Living Dead site.. since that's the one that started it all... and that's the common acronym :)

Great Freakin Movie!

CDSmith 07-07-2002 10:55 PM

Watched it like 22 years ago, liked it a lot. I don't really go in for too many horror movies, mostly because they're just not scary anymore.

Wasn't there a long scene in Dawn of the Dead in a shopping mall? I seem to remember a lot of zombies getting the shit blasted out of them in a mall.

I think I'll look for this movie again and give it another viewing.

Well, the whole movie takes place in a mall! :thumbsup
Monroeville Mall, PA, USA. Would be cool to pay a visit
if it still exists...

And yes, thereīs no scary movies out there.. sadly.
You have to go with the oldies if you really wanna get scared!
Try anything from Dario Argento, the *animal trilogy* preferred... not only for chills, but also for suspense that personally keeps me at the edge of the seat! :)

Then you must be familiar with the works of Lucio Fulci! or not?

For sleaze/gore.. try "The New York Ripper" wonīt dissapoint you at ALL! expect a REALLY LOW BLOW in the totally unexpected final scene from this movie.
