Question for the dutch webmasters

I just started a few months ago with promoting own paysites and now my dad who does my administration is wondering if I have to pay BTW (Sales Tax in the USA) over the money I make with selling memebrships?
I don't have to pay BTW over the design work I do but not sure about this.

Hi,

I know that you DON'T have to pay BTW over the money you make at USA companies. So when you promote ARS/Topbucks, and receive 5000 bucks, you don't have to pay BTW over that.

Is the company Ducth, like Payserve, you have to pay it....

Hope this helps

Andre

I don't know about the tax laws in the Netherlands but I guess they are similar to the ones in other European countries. We had this checked several times by our accountants and tax lawyers in Germany and the UK. The problem is that the tax laws in most European countries are pretty vague when it comes to online stuff.

We were told that if your servers are located in another country they are considered as a kind of branch office of your business in that country. So, if your servers are in e.g. the US and you use a US credit card processor you should be fine.

I would contact an accountant or tax lawyer in the Netherlands though to make sure. I would hate to have a tax audit and get told to pay sales tax for the last five years...

Thanks

Yes I'll make it 100% sure that I won't get any surprises from the tax people after a year or so.
I guess since the hosting and the billing processor are located in the usa and the domains are on name of an American it is the same as promoting a site from ARS etc.

Dont pay BTW
If you have a server in the US or Canada or whatever you dont have to pay anything, just your normal taxes.
I never payed btw in 1.5 years.

Dont ask fucking questions if you refuse to hear the answer..

Anyway.. Andre was right and you just pay your regular
'omzet belasting' to fullfill taxes..

In the last week I already have got 2 visits of those tax people. They are telling me all new things. That I have to pay BTW over al my revenues for all customers who came from The Netherlands or EU countries. It doesn't matter they say or it's from a sponsor or my own paysite.

I would appreciate if somebody could send me helpfull documentation.
