Damn.. it was fun deleting those AFF submitted galleries tonight.. Later I'm going to run a script on my archives to delete them from there as well.. Let Sleazy (or maybe those galleries are his brother's) know that his AFF galleries will be getting a little less traffic...

It's not the gallery submitter's fault.

They aren't stealing the traffic.

Yeah, I feel sorry for the submitters but eventually I'll put up a big notice that all their sites are banned so the submitters will know ahead of time.

Thats a better approach.

I would just leave the archived galleries be and not accept any future submissions promoting AFF.

I can understand not wanting to send traffic to AFF. But those affilates didn't know AFF was ripping them off.

If something like that happens to me I wouldn't want to get kicked in the ribs while I was down.

A fair chance to promote something else without losing years of work would be fair and appreciated

:1orglaugh yeah I'm sure... but we all know that the more people pull traffic etc., eventually the programs listen and everyone gets to say how great they are and they're standup and all that crap and things go back to normal.. That's IF they give a damn in the first place though.

It's different.

The people who run the program made the decision to hijack traffic.

They made their bed and can lay in it.

The affilates on the other hand for the most part were left in the dark and have had their traffic stolen.

While I don't wish anybody misfortune I can't help but to hold this difference between the two.

ah, well congrats on the 7k. as for what im talking about..the whole zango thing, overwritting cookies, poping their own affiliate codes over other aff affiliate codes. no nerve it, just surprises me that others will condone such things just because they are friends with those in the company...wait that doesn't surprise me at all. nevermind.

I understand why you might want to ban future galleries.. but I agree with Kenny's idea to not mess with the archives. What's done is done, sort of, and the least responsible individuals for this situation is really the affiliates. Fortunately, every surfer doesn't have Zango on their computers so if you leave the archives up your surfers still get to view the material and the AFF affiliates still have a (probable) chance of getting credit on sales.

1) they openly support file sharing sites
2) Zango.

Seems to be a difference in the info I have.

For me it's not so much whether they "have" done it.. It's that AFF/Lars/Cams continues to do it with a big fuck you to the WM community as a whole. This issue has been live on the board for awhile now and I have followed it from the beginning. They've had time to stop but won't. So now I'll take some steps, as small as they may be.

AFF/Cams are buying Zango keywords themselves.

I would be VERY surprised if they are still doing that....

They haven't posted anything "official" relating to this issue since their "sympathetic" thread, no where in which did they say they had stopped their Zango ad buys.

Very true.. However, since they're willing to "steal" the traffic I've worked hard to develop, by deleting/banning etc. their other promotions so they won't get some of that traffic, I can attempt to even things out a bit.. I'll also be adding that Zango removal stuff to all my sites over the next week or so.
