Wrong again.. It's the daily whine that "all porn pushers are scum and I would not dream of associating with them, but can't resist visiting GFY to expound my doctrine and convey my superior intellect" thread.

MaddCaz 10-24-2006 10:22 PM

its sad that an administration in this day and age can lie so much.. i almost wonder if its just due to the information superhighway... may all past administrations have lied equally, its just nowadays its easier to catch...

Sure he didnt just say stay the course, but actually meant to say cut and run? Seems a bit more likely doesnt it? Wouldnt be the first time his lips got ahead of his brain.

OK.. Before I get flamed for even defending him a little.... :winkwink:

Sure.. it's only too easy to catch someone out using the wrong words and then edit 50 sessions of em saying the opposite. And sure.. as soon as his lips have stopped moving - his comments are in the media.

George utters "words" - he practised them in front of a mirror with Karl doing the coaching and getting the emphasis right. It's like training a dog to bark X times. He has no clue what the words mean so he's kinda on the defensive all the time wondering where the next complex question is coming from, while the doctrine crew are on their knees behind him praying and hoping he'll not fuck up again.

Seriously, it's highly doubtful George actually has a brain and if he has, his thinking capacity is on the level of a toad (no offense to toads) - it's just a matter of which way to jump next to avoid being crushed.

What is this "Stay the Course" all about?

Webby 10-24-2006 11:53 PM

The spin room has picked up on George's words and spinning the term around to leave the impression all is fine....

Quote:

The US president, George Bush, is under increasing pressure to change American strategy on Iraq amid increasing violence and mounting US casualties, and Republican fears of heavy electoral losses in the midterm elections, now just two weeks away.

The White House press secretary Tony Snow acknowledged yesterday that Mr Bush was no longer saying that the United States would "stay the course" in Iraq.

"He stopped using it," Mr Snow said of the phrase, adding that the expression gave the impression that the administration was not adjusting its strategy to the realities in Baghdad.
So.... It's not really that "we" have changed our minds - it's just that "we" don't use the words "stay on course" any longer :pimp

TheSenator 10-25-2006 08:47 AM

I wonder what his hell would be like?

dunefield 10-25-2006 09:10 AM

So the question is... Is he staying the course?

StuartD 10-25-2006 09:18 AM

Wow.. anyone read the comments?

"The President does not lie. The President has never lied. The President always tells the truth. It really is that simple."

"However, the idiots/democrats fail to realize that the absolute truth is whatever the President is saying for as long as he is saying it. When he is done speaking, the statements no longe apply."

"His version of reality is the one preferred by millions of right-thinking Americans who know that the country has never been in better shape"

"The President is reality. Reality is the President. It really is that simple."

Holy brainwashed batman... this guy sounds like he's following a cult leader, not a president.

Webby 10-25-2006 09:46 AM

Damn.. Why is it every morning there is another "spin" out of the admin on Iraq??

Lately it's been self-criticism (duh? correct) that the US had shown "arrogance and stupidity" in Iraq, then denial that those words were ever spoken, then, when concrete evidence was produced that those were the words, it was they were "seriously misspoke by using the phrase".

Next there was talk of a "plan". The following day the plan was revealed - blame Iraq.

Next day we are no longer going to say "stay on course". Next was a show of support for the unchanged "plan" from senior admin officials, Rumsfield et al, - where the policy had become "adaptable".

This morning the dialog from the admin (specifically George) is that Iraq is of "serious concern" to him, despite that, "we shall prevail".

Bets on that tomorrow morning "we shall prevail" will not be a policy statement or intended to reflect any "prevailing", but simply words to show our "intent to prevail". Jeez... my dog could spin better while he's eating his dinner.

OK.. The truth is really known. What is of more concern to the admin are US elections and fussing over terminology to try and sell the concept that Iraq is not as bad as it looks while having to admit the facts. But sure shows how much panic, bending and twisting is going on over a short timespan - and screws up the spin and PR in the process.

directfiesta 10-25-2006 09:53 AM

The foudations of this regime is lies.

example from today:

Quote:

Iraqi leader blasts military raid in Shiite area
Al-Maliki says he wasn't told of plans to go after Al-Sadr militiaman

BAGHDAD, Iraq - U.S. and Iraqi forces raided the stronghold of a Shiite militia led by a radical anti-American cleric in search of a death squad leader, but the deadly operation was quickly disavowed by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.

Al-Maliki, who relies on political support from the cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, said the strike against a figure in al-Sadr?s Mahdi militia in Sadr City ?will not be repeated.?

The defiant al-Maliki also slammed the top U.S. military and diplomatic representatives in Iraq for their Tuesday news conference at which they said his government needed to set a timetable to curb violence ravaging the country. Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad said al-Maliki had agreed.

looks like what is said in the USA by the mouth pieces doesn't match what the puppet iraqi government says ...
