GFY sticky thread curse.
 

Seems as if you get a thread sticky, almost always it gets the worst response to view ratio possible.
Though once it drops off from being sticky the replies happen. Are people just afraid to post when it is sticky?

they probably are afraid, and also you know its spam when its sticky

i know that if it's a company i like or support i tend to read it but save my reply till it's un-sticky so they get the bump ... that's just me but i would think some others would do the same

I've never read a sticky thread, figure it's just spam like it is

I tune them out, like banners.

Stickies are like top/side advertisements.

People have conditioned themselves to be blind to them... as if they don't exist at all.

For some reason I always seem to ignore sticky's..weird

It's easy to overlook.. i never view a sticky

It's quite enlightening to read up on "ad blindness."

Do a search in Google, there are a lot of studies to read up on.

I always ignore stickies :( Not on purpose, I just skim over em.

I guess it depends on the topic about to be discussed there as well.

I've found that it does vary. Sometimes we'll have a pinned thread and it'll get a LOT of action. Other times it gets some views but not many replies. It's hit and miss but it's definitely a good way to get the word out. You may not click the stuck thread, but you at least see the title of it each time you load the main index :2 cents:
