Conventions: Business Forum or Popularity Contest
 

I just wanted to get peoples opinion if conventions now are a successful medium for doing business or more of a "place to be seen".

I always get a lot of business done but the conventions are more about building on existing relationships and forging new ones for me.

One, both, or none of the above.
It all depends on what you do and make of the shows. If you are set on doing real business it happens, etc.
