RSS TGP Namespace Module - FEED USERS/CODERS PLEASE READ

I've taken it upon myself to create a TGP Namespace for RSS feeds.

Basically I see lot's of RSS feeds that are actually invalid feeds.
With this we can conform together into a system, in which
everyone can abide to and make valid feeds, and parsers and cool tools etc that can read everyones feed and handle data neccesary to do whatever they wish

This is a work in progress and only contains 2 elements at this time
TGP:category
TGP:thumbnail

If you would like to contribute to this, then you're welcome to do so

Ive thought about this in the past but seeing as everyone seems to be using standard (or not so standard) RSS to give galleries, thought it might not be worth the effort.

But seeing as TGP guys somewhat conformed into the TGP model we see today, perhaps this could be a way to provide gallery updates to them instead of using the RSS format used today which is mainly for news/blog entries.

RSS has a spec, or at least pretty much trying too, unfortunately, not everyone understands it and breaks the rules, which of course break the readers... it's ok to have elements not defined in the RSS spec, AS LONG AS they are given their own namespace... which is what is being done above.

I think it's cool to use an RSS feed to update databases, but we need a guideline

Bump for others to read...

So, you copied a webpage and tried to dumb down RSS to simpler XML? One would hope that you could at least get your example correct:

Code:

TGP Feed>/title>

http://mytgpsite/sample>/link>

My TGP Feed Description

I think I'll pass on berating you that you don't even have a valid DTD.

At least you managed to accomplish something. You need to put more work into something than take an RSS syndication specification and decide to 'make it your own.'

So I pointed out that you haven't even got a plan, and your own syntax is broken. Suck it up. Welcome to life. Now you know what to fix. :thumbsup
