Just Got Back from the Theature: Flags of our Fathers

This has got to be the most over-hyped movie I have ever seen. I found it even more boring than... Jesus, I cant even find a movie to compare it to in terms of boringness.

GT-Omar 10-23-2006 10:21 PM

that's a real dissapointment. I was looking forward to seeing that this week. oh well

minusonebit 10-23-2006 10:44 PM

Oh yeah, and there were just THREE people seeing it. And thats counting me. It was, however, the best experience I have ever had in a cinema. Having the whole damn cinema to yourself does have its advantages -- i.e. no people taking cell phone calls... Jesus Christ it should be legal to shoot those people as soon as they answer that fucking phone in there.

LiveDose 10-23-2006 10:48 PM

Shit I was looking forward to seeing that one... Hrmmm

Tell me you brought a girl with you. You mean to tell me you were in a empty movie theater watching a bad movie, and didn't even get a little something?

jopie 10-23-2006 10:58 PM

Damn, I had great expectations! I'll skip that one! But really, an almost empty theatre, a boring movie and no chick around?

beemk 10-23-2006 10:58 PM

i went and saw it over the weekend, there was some good action scenes, but pretty boring overall.

Yeah, the attack on the island was a good scene but the movie as a whole lacks in the plot department big time. Its silly to just show numerous scenes of people fighting in war and carnage all strung together without some purpose or connection.

Yeah, random splashes of blood and the occasional severed flying limb is real romantic. :Oh crap :helpme :disgust

Oh I agree, romantic likely not, great opportunity to get a good blow job while not paying attention to a boring movie in a empty theater......yes

You obviously didn't understand what the movie was about at all. I read the book, and it was pretty true to it. The movie was more about the hard times the guys who raised the flag had with being called "heros". Their personal trama with seeing what they did, and wondering why they were not killed, and feeling guilty about it.

I thought it was a great movie.

BobChezule 10-24-2006 12:10 AM

The movie is being marketed as a straight up war movie, akin to Private Ryan, when it's really only half of a war movie, if that. The focus is on the three guys who get called back from the war and are paraded around the country as heroes. Shame on Warner Bros for leaving this out of their marketing.

squishypimp 10-24-2006 12:14 AM

looks like i wont be going to this one.

vvq 10-24-2006 12:19 AM

i heard it sucked as well. won't be seeing it.

BusterBunny 10-24-2006 12:28 AM

dreamworks has raised the bar i wouldn't wanna try to put out a war movie these days :2 cents:

V_RocKs 10-24-2006 01:12 AM

If Saving Private Ryan was a 9... what would you give this movie?

BAKO 10-24-2006 01:46 AM

worst movie ever
