Nats Bookmark Referrer

That's getting out of a hand what the fuck ails that,
Why can't it show me where they bookmarked from,
If it was even a bookmark sale when it happens

scottybuzz 10-23-2006 06:01 PM

yeh i made a thread about this some time ago, would be cool if you know where they came from.

MrMaxwell 10-23-2006 06:05 PM

"Cool"
I guess it would be "cool" to actually know which campaigns are producing..
Yes sir it would be

MrMaxwell 10-23-2006 06:06 PM

That is the only thinkg I don't like about NATS
NATS is good shit and I love it
They fix that and they're a complete blowjob

They are sales where the referring URL can't be determined.

They could be sales with no referrer in the first place. Sales with user agents who destroy the referrer. etc.

I don't see why people complain so much about GETTING sales. The referrer isn't there. If it was there we'd dispaly it.

TMM_John 10-23-2006 06:09 PM

The proper campaign will be stored for the sale with or without referrer data. So if you are using the compaigns feature even without bookmark info you will know which campaigns are doing well and which aren't.

By the way. The if they bookmark where did they bookmark from idea is kinda cute. I will talk with our guys about it and see if they can come up with anything.

I didn't mean which NATS campaign necessarily

I don't buy the sales with user agents or etc..
Surfers who buy generally are not advanced enough to know how to use proxies or even turn on a PC

I'm not complaining about getting a sale,
I want to know where they're from.

Some software that they may have installed can block referers.. Also.. If they bookmark the site and use that bookmark to come back later, or they type it in, the browser does not send a refer. Labeling them a "bookmark" is misleading as only a portion of those might be bookmarked. It's more accurate to label them as "no referer".

TMM_John 10-23-2006 06:37 PM

Yes, cute, as in I like it. Whats the problem? lol :)

See .

It's not possible to track a referring url when there is no referrer. Setup different campaigns and you'll know where it is coming from. I'd rather know how many bookmark joins I'm getting anyway. But that's just personal preference I guess.

I'm just old and a dinosaur I suppose

Sure it's great but how do you know right now which ones are actual bookmarks and which ones are just dead referrers?

There is no way to know that. Just not possible.
