Jimthefiends tech tip of the day: Never see another commercial again.

    Who does this besides me?

Get a dvr cable box, one that automatically records everything on the current channel for a couple hours or whatnot.

    Tune to your program.

When it starts, pause it for ten minutes and go rub one off.

When you get back you will have a ten minute lag time which is enough to fast forward through all the commercials.

I don't think I've seen a commercial in the last 2 years. dvr's are great...I don't have a lot free time, so I just dvr all the programs I want to see and set aside one evening to catch up on the shows I like.

I opted for a dvr with dvd burner and when I'm in a rush or have to travel, I'll burn some shows to a dvd and watch them on my laptop.
      See Sig...oh wait.

Why bother with tv if you can simply watch anything you want on dvd or divx.

Well depending on the fast foward speed you use. Mine has three options. I find that I need 12 minutes of pause for a thirty minute show and 24 minutes for an hour long show.
