Lil Paysite Tip - Multiple and Rotating Content Tours

It's been way long since I did one of these so here's some info I've shared before and some new stuff. Hope ya'll find it useful. It's not brain surgery, but every little bit helps. =]

Anyone who has been in this game awhile knows that two things always happen when you own or promote paysites:

1) Most every time you freshen things up on your tour even a little bit, your numbers spike for a short while.

2) You often get two sources of traffic that are both well known to be good but only one converts for some unknown reason.

Now obviously you'll find exceptions to anything but in general these two scenarios play out in a hundred ways every day. The good news is that you can do some small things over time that really help and can increase your conversions measurably.

For problem #1 there are a couple solutions. The simple one (especially if you have a "reality" style tour) is to shuffle the order of the content you are displaying. If you have three or four really killer scenes that have great samples, put one on the top one day, then another the next and so on. Shuffle the order around. If you really wanna keep it moving, use a rotating page script to have the order pulled up randomly. This is great for when you get repeat visits too and you might catch a visitor the second time with a scene that does it for them. I have a simple PHP script to do this, if you want it just hit me up on email and I'll be happy to send it over.

With problem #2, you are often looking at the difference in what a source of traffic is used to. In other words, traffic from say a TGP is full of people used to getting tons of free porn and who look at big text laden sites all day and may not be so impressed with sales promises and graphics. In fact they might be turned off by too many promises. They want to see samples and they usually need to see something that they haven't seen a hundred times before (a new pretty face, a new crazy setup, etc...).

Now maybe your other source of traffic is from search engines or you bought a spot on a listing type site. These users may be newer... where looking at more graphical stuff and like all the promises, etc... The solution (although it can get expensive) is to offer multiple styles of tours. Have one geared towards TGP users... have one geared towards SEO traffic, etc... Obviously most people can't do this right off but over time you can and it's better than just flushing out tours every time you are concerned about numbers and it's A LOT better than losing GOOD affiliates because what you have doesn't work for their traffic. Smart affiliates will try a couple of your tours and see where the match is or even know by looking and it's much harder to get an old affiliate back than it is to get them the first time so this solution really can help you out long haul.

Anyway like I said... none of this is brain surgery but it's stuff I've seen over the years and I hope it finds some use in your plans.

Best of luck everyone!
