AVI - mpg conversions.. ??

I need a good AVI to mpg converter, ofcourse speed is important and being able to do a batch is cool too. I tried a few of the trials that are available but I am not to happy with the quality. What are you guys using?

ive used tons of different ones, what i found is that most people just have a preference and there is an endless supply of them...right now i only do limited number of conversions but for that i use ALO video converter, back when I was doing them more often i used tmpgenc...

tmpgenc always did mpegs well

basschick 10-22-2006 05:37 PM

sorenson squeeze, dude. it's easy to use as fuck, it's pretty fast, it does batch encoding, it rocks in every way!

i also recommend the cheaper versions of sony vegas. the catch here is that their free trials don't support mpgs but you can't go far wrong for around $100 for a program like vegas.

Sorenson squeeze.

I've always used TMPGenc, but I've also had decent results with VirtualDub-MPEG. Both are about as eclectic, but you can easily add layovers and othershit when rendering through VirtualDub.
