Fuck FTP programs
I downloaded this free SSH Secure file transfer cilent thing, it's great, works just like a ftp but allows me to open a terminal and give unix commands. I just can't believe people pay $100 for a FTP and this thing is free.
SSH © SECURE SHELL[TM] :thumbsup |
Ya, I had to download and use puTTY to use my new host - free and lovely (yaya - I'm a bit of a geek)

sftp is the bomb.

I am also looking for an FTP-type program that works with SSH2.
|
I am not 100% sure this is the exact same thing that I have this thread is old and their website appeared to change, but I think this is it
ftp://metalab.unc.edu/pub/packages/s...ient-3.2.0.exe |
Have a url to their homepage? My google results are for products that are not free, so they must not be the same product you are talking about.

I already posted a URL to their homepage in this thread, and a URL that is a direct download to the program although I am not sure if its the same exact program ;) |
Oh, you mean http://www.ssh.com/ ? That's where I was. It didn't look like anything was free there.

ftp://metalab.unc.edu/pub/packages/...lient-3.2.0.exe download that and see if thats it, I am not sure but it looks similar to mine, I dont wanna download it and install in fear I might lose my current sftp |
Sorry, they do link to it for free. Right here:
http://www.ssh.com/products/ssh/download.cfm And the 2nd USA FTP site is the same as the one you listed above. "This is a non-commercial version of the software, which does not support certificates or PKI." What does this mean? Here is the commercial version for $116: http://www.ssh.com/products/ssh/for_workstations/ |
I'm using SSH Secure (FTP client) right now and it looks like it is working great so far. I'm sure the Telnet client works just as
good. Thanks for the tip, kenny. [edit] Changed my mind... no skip-all feature. WTF?! Who can recommend me an FTP client that works with SSH2? |
