How do other Americans feel about some foreigners who come on GFY to denigrate us and spill their bile about our country?

Dude..it's just a board..I could say the same about Canadian bashers but I want the Americans to think we live in igloos and the moose run wild on the tundra

Who fucking cares? If its accurate, then thats all that matters. And most of the bad stuff floating around about the US of A is accurate, sadly.

Anyhow, man, it's just an internet forum. Take it for what it is. I ignore it. The worst ones that have absolutely nothing but bile to spew get ignored.

It doesn't bother me. Part of the stuff you hear is deserving, but some of it's just garbage. Everyone likes to root against the frontrunner.

Actually the one thing that bothers me is the stereotypes. They seem to think that because Bush is in power, we all bow down to him everyday and worship him. Most of us dislike him (just look at the approval ratings).

What can people do? Cast our vote and that's about it.

Exactly! But day in, day out, people are either bitching about Bush, or USA, or the fact that they don't appreciate that the USA has been 'the overlord' for years, yet offer no reasonable resolves.

I have a love-hate thing with the US... you have some of the best and some of the worst of stuff, like food for example... and then there's the potential of a country as great as the US, and the spoiled potential... sometimes the bile is a little bitter and it comes out with some people... but I don't think I ever spew online... there's no reason for someone to think I hate them just because where they live - everyone has to live somewhere...

I agree with you if someone is just plain wrong or rather uninformed... I hate it when someone speaks from ignorance or prejudice, and claim to have an opinion on anything they have no real knowledge of.

But face it, with the kind of influence the states has on the geo-political playing field... they're going to absolutely be pissed on sooner or later...

Hating the US government and hating Americans are two different things entirely.

There aren't any reasonable resolves. Both parties are worthless hacks. Politicians are guys who couldn't cut it in the private sector. Until parties are abolished, nothing will change and our vote will be between a pile of shit and a pile of vomit.

I just dont do business with most of the USA bashers, thats payback enough because Ive made ALOT of money in the last few years and theyve possibly lost out on some of that. Its funny they will take their USA customers money all day, if only some of those customers knew such a shame.

The core issue, tho it's a state of denial, is the real concern/offense is not over the US people or over the US as a country - more along the lines of the crap govt they currently have. This comes particularly from those who actually voted for them - so kinda understandable :) It's our "values" to permit torture to the point of organ failure and possible death - high principles indeed :1orglaugh

Dunno who may have said that or under whatever reasons, but it very obvious Young George has little credibility and hardly surprising comments. Blair did lie about WMD and the Bush Admin knew exactly the background - they are both in the same pot. Fortunately one is "departing" shortly and the tide is turning - least until another assault is made on folks by govts.

I dont hate the USA at all - but I do have isuues with its goverment at the moment.

Lets be blunt. Most people take American dollars in this industry because if they didn't, they'd be out of business.

So if someone is fucking up and I say nothing and let them continue to fuck up, I love them.

I agree that this is the current state of the US. But then, it's the state of the rest of the world, too. So it's not really qualified as a criticism of America. I also think your analysis is wrong. The problem is not too much capitalism, but too little. Corporations exploiting government power to beat down better competitors and get subsidies from tax money is not capitalism. In pure capitalism this would not be possible as government power would be too limited. The US was the best experiment in trying to give people liberty so far. Even though it didn't work out as planned, it's still the best we have today.
But I would love to see a place where individual rights would actually be respected and considered inalienable. All we have had to this day were approximations that turned worse and worse.
