Firefox 2.0: Its Coming Out Tuesday!
 

OK, all of you IE fuckheads, you've had your fun. Now we're gonna have ours. Microsoft released its little flop of a browser update, now FF is gonna relase its whopper. I cant fucking wait, I will be on pins and needles until it comes out.

Firefox 2.0 debuts Tuesday

Firefox 2.0, the foremost rival to Microsoft Corp.'s Internet Explorer browser, is set for release Tuesday afternoon, said its producer, the not-for-profit Mozilla Corp.

The free 5-megabyte browser, available in 39 languages for Windows, Mac and Linux computers, will be downloadable from getfirefox.com, the Mountain View, Calif., company said.

The new release of the two-year-old product includes new features but strives to retain its simplicity of design and operation, Mike Schroepfer, Mozilla's vice president of engineering, said earlier this week.

downloaded the latest RC today, so far its working out pretty good...nothing amazing but it seems quicker on my mac...

I get an erection when I go to the colo center and plug my laptop into a port next to the port that my server is normally plugged into and surf the web right off the core router, so why cant I get a little wood over my web browser?

I really love the spell checking of webform text, that is a great feature. Means I dont have to rely on the crappy spell checker in IMP anymore, nor on the various webboards I post on (or like his one dosent even have one) and pasting stuff out to an external app to spell check it is a pain and sucks.

Threads like this make me realize that I am not a nerd after all. Whew...

..spyware at the speed of light! I dunno. Going to the colo to me means that either I'm installing hardware, or I failed somewhere because I'm not sitting at my desk rather than hanging out with the NOC monkeys.

When you say coming out do you mean they are finally admitting they are a gay browser?

Of course, we go to colo to fix things. But that dosent mean that I dont play for a while (and borrow a few GBs of bandwidth from my neighboring customers) and have some fun.

Heh. Always good for getting new ISOs, or, if you're really on the edge, I have seen someone running bearshare for an hour or two - surprised he didn't get fired for that.

Am I the only person who's fairly happy with 1.5.0.7 (with a half-dozen extensions).

You have RC3 or 2.0? While very similar, they are not identical.

yeah i do that, but every day or so... it gets annoying having my normal 10 tabs open and having to close it for that memory problem, only gripe i have about FF

i used the beta and i sucked....all the extensions didn't work as a lot of them aren't updated...
The whole reason for using FF was the tabbed browsing and the extensions.

Both IE 7 has...so if FF 2 is as crappy as its beta then fuck FF and welcome back IE

you do know in the beta, the extensions wont work, because nobody updates their extensions to work for a beta, but for the final release...

since i don't use IE, but Firefox, I'm less nervous when browsing
