Anyone been to Aruba?
 

Going there for a wedding in May and we are trying to decide whether it is worth staying longer.

If you like Cancun or Ft Lauderdale, you'll like it.

Otherwise I'd hop a quick inter-island flight to Curacao and spend the rest of my time there.

The island is interesting for a couple of days, other than that you'll probably want to stay at your hotel - some of the restaurants are pretty terrific though.

Spent a day driving around (Jeep rental for $50/day) the island while there on a cruise. The south was interesting; went through a couple of small towns but I wouldn't say anything is a "must see" down there and I think it was only a 30 minute drive. Going north was more interesting as there were lots of white sand beaches that were beautiful, There is a main beach where all the big hotels and package tourists...were. You can valet park your car at one of the big resorts and just go to the back and check it out, swim...but I prefered the more secluded beach further north near a big lighthouse. We took the jeep off road near there on the sand dunes. Tried to cruise through neighbourhoods and check out how people live...Downtown was interesting and active but VERY touristy near where the cruise ships dock.

Too bad the HEAT can't be expressed through a photo...I dare anybody to stand out there with no shade in the hot sun out on that beach....

very nice peaceful and not too much action w/the chics,,,,

2134 out of 2135 college girls loved and had a great time there in the last 3 years.

I went there when I was 12 and enjoyed it.

I got my taste for satay there but haven't had it the way they serve it anywhere else since.

I went there for my honeymoon 18 yrs ago. It is a very beautiful Island. Great places to eat, lot's of casinos and the beaches are very nice. Lot's of water sports like boating, jet skis, cruises etc..... It is definitely an Island worth going to for a few days.:2 cents: :pimp

A very wonderful place, man. A perfect place for a well-planned weeklong vacation. :winkwink:
