Bad Boy South, Bad Boy... it's all Warner Brothers owned which is why it's listed under "Major" labels.

Bad Boy has had a good year. Cassie, Young Joc, Danity Kane and Now Diddy who is selling over 200,000 records in his first week. I'd say it hasn't been a bad year overall for them profit wise.

True, but which one of those will have a hot sophmore album? His year has been impressive, but the label has still caught a lot of bricks that they need to make up for. Forgive me for being skeptical. :winkwink:

I wouldn't bet on any of them having hot sophmore albums. Joc has the best chance I think since his Manager Block is really well connected and generally knows what he's doing.

Danity Kane, no. Cassie, hell no. Diddy is on his last album. The Keshia Cole song on that album is a monster. You are gonna love it Afrekete, if you haven't heard it already.

At the end of the day, no one remembers the bricks if you have enough hits.

I totally agree with you on Joc being the only real possibility for a good second album.

I like a lot of the songs I've heard from the Diddy CD so far. I heard a bit of the Keyshia Cole song on her reality show and I also like the one with Christina Aguilera. I'm actually *cringe* thinking of buying the CD. It's a record full of decent collabo's...and IMO there's not a damn thing wrong with that.

I guess I'm one to remember Diddy's bricks. It's a little bit easier to hold him responsible when he's the face of a label and it's a face that's in the public eye all the time. To be fair, you don't exactly see Lyor Cohen's face on MTV or in a video shilling for his own projects. So it's easier to forgive some no-name group that he may not have pushed as hard as he could than it is Puff's misgressions.

I guess, but on the flipside his face is what helps most of the acts get the initial attention.

Believe me, I am pissed at what he's done to Carl Thomas and Cheri Dennis.

But, at the end of the day he has had a better success ratio than Lyor Cohen. I promise you that Puff has fucked up less lives in the process as well.
