ok, here goes.

I'm _xXx_, a newbie to the adult industry. My mate and fellow student is a webmaster. Basically while i go to work to pay bills, as far as i can tell all he does is sit at his computer and somehow makes cash. I pestered him about it since I know my way around frontpage and he told me adult is where the money is at and GFY is the place to be, so here i am.

I have an adult domain thanks to my buddy so i can make some sort of adult site (FindNewPorn.com), but i'm not sure what to make out of it. I was thinking a review site, but i'm not sure yet.

Basically i'm just trying to find my feet atm and pick up tips along the way. If anyone wants to give me tips to make cash, or even better give me a job i'm more than willing to listen :thumbsup

New on the adult board.
Lots of ball busters in the buy/sell forums.
In Vegas. Ex Bartender, Ex Chauffer, Ex Bouncer. I am totally enthralled with this business. I really do love it.
Have a nice size portfolio of very good, performing Domains/Sites,and I am liquidating, all of them, don't have time to run them anymore.(only a few Adult ones left).
I am trying to go in a different direction, and my partner is already there (software developement)
They were all previously off the market for a long time. They are not the same ones that I see go back and forth, they were bought years ago, and I have access to a lot more.
For some reason, these are the hardest ones to move. No one will just say, "Yes , I'm interested. Let's talk".

From Detroit. GO TIGERS!!!. :thumbsup HAIL TO THE VICTORS!!!

I'm used to doing business straight forward, not used to the song and dance you have to put on here.

LOL, Eborg's been around the block, I like all your quick stats at the end there. :)

_xXx_ You got a nice domain there. :) A review site does sound like the way to go. Add a SexSearch box to it as well.

Thanks man.

But can you tell me what is a sexsearch box, and how does it work?

RedShoe 10-20-2006 08:09 PM

I mean like find a sponsor that pays you for adding an adult search engine to your site. The domain sounds like it would do well as a search engine as well.

Hey Guys I am a Newbie to the industry. Just starting out with my first website - rloz.com (incomplete right now). Technically this is my first internet business. Hoping to have fun ;)

Dagwolf 10-20-2006 08:59 PM

I've forgotten more about how to make money than most people ever know. In fact I've forgotten more than I know...

Which puts me behind the game.

Your site is missing all it's links. :(

At the very least just hook up some sponsor links.

Hi I am new too, I was jerking off until I passed out, and when I woke up I was here. I think I am trying to find the full version of the Jordan Capri video.

ive been running an adult sex toy store for a few years, looking at adding some porn sites to my portfolio when i find the time!!

Hi I'm Kris. I was a banker at chase for what seemed like forever and I'm also a full time student, Chase eventually fired me when they caught on to the fact that all I did was sit on my ass looking for a way to advertise escorts legally(one of my clients did and he intrigued me.) Unfortunatly Chase didn't take kindly to me reading cnnmoney.com for entrepreneurial advice all day. Never did get around to playing with an escort site, now I'm just trying to make some income so I don't have to go back to working for somone else. I've been trying to follow guides on netpond but if you worked out my hours worked to amount made I'd be at about 10 cents an hour I think.... Maybe I'm going about this industry wrong trying to break into it fulltime right away but I'd rather not work for another bank. Any advice or help on any aspect of the business would be a greatly appreciated. I'm a fast learner and have all day to sit on my ass and learn new things if they can lead to future profits. I just seem to be having a bit of bad luck in this industry. So if anyone wants a newbie apprentence send me an ICQ at 280-857-528!

Hi I am muse I am new to the adult biz. I am currantly working on three site. Two are non nude and one is a nude pinup style site. I have rencetly got a TGP submitter. All the content on the sites is owned and copyrighted by my husband who is the photographer. We beleive that they have good content. The sales though are not were we would like them to be. We are starting an affilate program but we use verotel so it is a little bit more difficult. We would lke at some point to get NATS but right now the sites are not making enough money to do that just yet.
The sites are
www.cinnamyn.com
www.princessofpinup.com
www.karacandy.com
does anyone have ideas

thanks
muse

If we all shared your mentality, we'd all have given up. There are more porn sites online than there are people on this planet, and still I build sites and make money.

People turn 'legal' every day and they got credit cards just burning a hole in their pockets.

Hi Kris. Good luck with your learning. Just be careful how you word things. :) You say you're a fast learner, and that all you do is sit on your ass and learn all day, and then you say you're having bad luck. I'd say, you didn't learn as much as you think you did.

This industry is not as easy as you might think. It's still all about making sales. It's just that we sell something that pretty much sells itself. Once you get a guy horny enough, it doesn't take much to sell him.

Getting him to your site, and getting him horny is the trick. :winkwink:

Start small man. Go read up about link lists, and TGP's. Start with the basics. Look at the top TGP operators. Those guys can clear 10K in a month, no problem.

It's one thing to read an article on TGP and think, "Submit galleries, make money, ok, I got it. What next?" but you have to be willing to do it. Just try it. Every day for 9 months. Get content, build a gallery, submit it, and then add it to your own netwrok. After 3 galleries, build a free site. Submit that to the link lists and free sites. And then add it to your own network. Repeat.

It takes time and effort. You will get out of this, what you put into it. Just know that it takes time.

Hi Muse,

Nice sites.

And don't take any of this the wrong way, I only want to offer advice.

I think the most important thing people need to rememebr is that in the end.. We're all salespeople. We sell porn. We sell fantasy. We sell.

Before you can let other people sell your product, you need to know how to sell it yourself.

"The sales though are not were we would like them to be. We are starting an affilate program..." I'm not coming down on you, I'm just trying to point out that you really need to know how to sell your product first, then grow into an affiliate program. Your empire should grow from the ground up. Build a solid base first. Don't try to start your empire by skipping the first few steps.

Once your sites grow and sales are coming in, you'll have people hitting you up to join your affiliate program.

As for the Cinnamyn site. To me I think the font and the text treatment should stand out a little more. And on this page.. http://www.cinnamyn.com/modelsfree.html Instead of linking those to the join pages. Link them to smaller bio pages. I'd love to know how much content you have on Angela F, or Tracy, or how big Lea's tits are. Maybe the bio page could show a couple of more shots of the girl they click.

And on this page, http://www.cinnamyn.com/issues.html Make the thumbs bigger and break it up between like 3 or 4 pages, really make it look like you have a ton of content. And on the join page, add a brighter, whiter stroke to the font, really pop it out. Don't let them get distracted by the background girls.

Guys will join an entire site based on one girl. So show them that one girl, and sell them. :) :winkwink:

First off thank you for the advice, secondly I've been trying the more basic rinse and repeat part with the free sites, which I'm then submitting to link dumps, and also linking to from a mini network of feeder blogs run almost entirely from RSS feeds.

My traffic fluctuates a bit but on the whole has been going up. I'm playing around with blogs in the evenings to pass time and I've had some pretty good luck there.

What do you recommend for gallery creations though? Ive been using Express thumbnail creator in combination with Dreamweaver but my galleries don't look too pretty.

You seem knowledgable in the subject in general, could I talk to you over ICQ Perhaps?

EBORG9 10-21-2006 09:35 PM

Kristofer,
Red Shoe is dropping some serious knowledge. Stick with him. The rules of Marketing and Business are universal.
I am also new here in this forum, but I've been around for a while. (non-adult)
Just about eveyone had somebody offer a hand up. I got my first break actually selling to a guy that already had an established portfolio, and as it turned out was a Search Engine Optimization Expert. What I learned from him, would have taken me years to learn on my own.
You just never know.
The fast money days are all but gone, but the good money days will always be here.
One Step at a Time, and plant your foot firmly on each step.

I'll be out of town for the next few weeks but sure hit me up. My ICQ is 114.683.191 or email me. red <at> redshoe.net

Let me tell you a little something. To this day... my best selling gallery was my ugliest.

I lierally had 1 row of 5 thumbs, a line break, then a banner, line break, 5 thumbs, line break, banner, line break and finally 5 thumbs with a text link under it. Dark-dull blue background with yellow link colors. The sponsor was SoulCash. The sales weren't all at once. It was over a period of time, but that one gallery was my best. Since then it's been kinda hit or miss. But the point is, never think you need better looking galleries when a shitty one will sell just as well.

It looked like this.
1,2,3,4,5
banner
6,7,8,9,10
banner
11,12,13,14,15
text link.

Fucking simple, and ugly. LOL... but it worked. Times have changed. And it is harder now to make an easy sell. But look at cars. They are pretty much the same as they have ever been. 4 wheels and an engine that takes your from A to B. Women are the same way. They all still just got 2 tits and a pussy. Well... most of them. The product is still the same, it's just how you package it.

Some car salesman will say, "Just test drive it, the car will sell itself." and based on that some guys will buy it. Some people have to be told how cool it is. Or how cool they'll look in it.. Or how much pussy they'll get with it. Regardless, it's still the same car.

Sometimes your galleries will just sell themselves, and sometimes you'll have to tell a guy how hot it is. As your traffic grows you'll start to understand the kinds of people that are visiting you and what they like, and based on that you'll know how to sell them.

People into fem-dom maybe more submissive towards women so you need to tell them how strong a girl is and how they will beg for mercy. Guy into male domination against women, need to hear how bad a girl has been and how she needs to be punished. A softcore guy needs to b told how beautiful women are...
See what I mean? Learn your traffic and you'll learn how to talk to them. How to convey your message.

Believe it or not we all beneift from your sale. Think of this advice like a jewelry district in a downtown area. There maybe 200 jewelry vendors in the same place. Well why do they all gather in the same place? There's too much competition. It's because they know that people go there to buy jewelry and so they have a better shot at making a sale. They collectively attract customers. Same as online porn. If we can collectively turn non-porn shoppers into porn buying fools, then we all have one more customer to target. The goal as an individual is to make money. As a collective it's to all help each other to get more customers. If I help you get one guy, then maybe that one guy will buy from me later down the road. In turn, I may be able to sell him to my friends at OCCash, or WEGCash...

:2 cents: :thumbsup

I'm hungry. I need to eat.

Speaking of food,
If you're not fat. Work on it. We all need to look the same as well. If we all look like SleazyDream we all got a shot at pussy during the conventions. If just one of us looks like Nylz, it fucks everything up. Either we all need to walk around looking like Ricky Martin, or we not. I vote for not.

NYLZ, eat more and get ugly!

kristofer 10-22-2006 03:10 PM

Fuck.... I went from obese to fit in the past 2 years, all that fucking work for nothing. Well at least I get to eat deep-fried twinkies again.
