A question for homeless people
I was just driving down the expressway and saw a homeless lady with a sign asking for money. My question is this: Why do homeless people ALWAYS put the words "God Bless" on their signs? They will squeeze it anywhere they can on the sign. It doesn't seem like good advertising for God's blessings though when you are standing in the heat asking for money. Trust me, I have sympathy for homeless people but I just think that saying "God Bless" is strictly for tugging on heartstrings.

I dont think there are homeless people here to answer it. Well.. maybe a few
|
They also put "War Vet" or "Vietnam Vet" on there as well. Anything to get you to donate a few bucks for beer.
|
Ok...so here I am thinking, maybe I shouldn't post that title but then I thought, well, I guess people here will be smart enough to know that I'm not REALLY asking the question to homeless people, just making a mini-rant.
***DISCLAIMER*** Do not take title literally |
God is not trademarked yet. Maybe thats why.

well it's all about marketing, does it offend people? yes probably, should it? no, what's wrong with them being a bit religious? Does it get them more money? more thank likely..
and we've found the answer. |
I was homeless at one point after a really horrible and disturbing break-up, lost even the shirt off my back practically, and that is one place I NEVER want to go back to again. things are much better now that I've picked up the pieces and have rebuilt, but that point in my life will always haunt me.

It's just something you say like "have a nice day" or "I'm not going to hurt you."
|
its more effective when homeless people run up on you and scare you for change :1orglaugh
|
"Fuck you homo" reduces donations
|
if you see god bless on the board say "jesus thinks you're a sinner"

No reason for hate or issues, just point them to the local food bank or shelter. If you really feel bad and want to do something and make sure your not getting scammed, literally offer them some work like they desire. If they balk at it, then just move on. I have no problem with the "parking lot guy" who wonders around assorted parking lots asking if he can wash your windows for a buck. |
