for those who like latin music..
 

my fav. bands of all time will be performing sunday at the Hollywood Bowl. Ozomatli and Hugh Masekela will be 2 of the 4 bands performing..this will totally be an off the hook event for those into salsa and afro cuban music....and I will smoke a few bowls to that!

Never really listened to it, what are some good songs? I'll track them down and listen.

I remember when they were coming up...

yeah man..they have been putting it down here in Los ANgeles for a very very long time.For those who dont know what Ozomatli means its an Nahuatl name for the God for Dance....a few of their songs are como ves and cumbia de los muertos..

I have a question though...

The last hot Latin group I heard was the choir at the St. Columbanus Catholic church in Chicago. No one else I know of sings in Latin. Why does everyone say Latin when referring to spanish speaking people?

well if you ask me its because of the rot of the culture of the people. latin= latino = hispanics= spanish speaking people. There are some great groups who actually do speak the root language of Latin but I dont know them by heart..i will get back to you on that one..

sorry Pete but the plot really doesnt thicken..most latin americans either speak a carib mixture of african and indian (garifuna which I am fluent in), spanish, and their native indian tongue.The term "mexican" is a mixture of the indigineous people of that region and indians.In other words,mexicans are mutts and there are no pure "mexicans"..I dont have time for a history lesson this morning..i have work..catch you all on the flip side...
