Anyone watch Sesame Street lately?

They changed the whole format of the show since I was a kid...there's a story line now, then regular installments of "Journey for Ernie" seems Ernie is moving up in the world and he's got his own little sit-com, and "Elmo's world" at the end...what the fuck? I used to like the chaos of un related skits all strung together...

seseme street is cool :)

GlydeGirl 10-19-2006 03:19 PM

I haven't seen Sesame Street lately, but I do recall that it was bashed for teaching kids to have shorter attention spans with it's whimsical mix of skits and sketches... maybe the early childhood educators buzzed in the producers' ears and lobbied for the changes.

The real question is... do the kids like it?

One day about ten years ago I tuned in and the adults could see Snuffy. I felt the generational shift.

"Me and my Llama...me and my Llama...are going to the dentist"

marketsmart 10-19-2006 03:29 PM

dennisthemenace 10-19-2006 03:30 PM

I haven't been able to look at it since Elmo came along.

SomeCreep 10-19-2006 03:31 PM

When I was little, Elmo hadnt been born yet.

Sesame street was all about, big bird, bert & ernie (living together in their apartment), cookie monster, and the vampire.

Oscar the grouch and Mr. Snuffleupagus made their debuts back then too.

I live in a place that hardly ever shows Sesame Street. So I haven't seen that clip in about ten years but without even clicking on it i can sing it. They knew repeating things worked for teaching kids.

Aneros Josh 10-19-2006 03:49 PM
