Everybody who has kids: IMPORTANT WARNING

I dont care if this was posted before or not and I truly dont care...

Just wanna make sure its out there; it seems like a batch of products from the CADBURY chocolate company might have been infected by a rare form of salmonella and they are in the process of taking all those candies off the market right now in Europe. In the meantime DO NOT buy any of those products or let your kids eat some. The bacteria can be very harmful. I checked the info on the canadian inspection of food agency and it is actually accurate.

Anyway, the possible infected batch was imported from england but any of it could be anywhere so it might concern ppl worldwide.

Dont eat any cadbury chocolate or let your kids eat it. :warning

I only eat dark chocolate 73%... its cheaper and healthier; i buy it by blocks. But with kids its hard to control what they eat, or given to eat at friends, school, day care etc...

free4porn 10-19-2006 12:55 PM

gonna stay off the chocolate for a bit!

Got Porn? 10-19-2006 12:56 PM

Chocolate + raw eggs = salmonella.

Magalie 10-19-2006 01:03 PM

The fact that this is out DAYS BEFORE HALLOWEEN makes me very very suspicious about the truth behind this story.

This looks like something made up from a Cadbury's competitor in a attempt to boost their sales by spreading this around.

I could be wrong...but its my feeling.

marketsmart 10-19-2006 01:03 PM

thanks for the info!

JD 10-19-2006 01:05 PM

I don't know what has fuelled this latest scare but if this is the same story then it dates back to January this year when the salmonella was discovered.

Cadbury's started recalling a handfull of brands in June when it was reported to the authorites and around 30 brands were tested for salmonella.

Don't know the current status but I know some of the brands are back on the shelves.

Lee 10-19-2006 01:11 PM

There was a product recall of I believe 4 products some months ago in the UK but it was all sorted over here. Is this an official warning or as someone has pointed out, a potential way of damaging Cadburys prior to the halloween runup?

pornguy 10-19-2006 01:14 PM

Thanks for the info.

Actually, I believe this is the second cadbury incident this year.

janosik 10-19-2006 01:19 PM

I was one of the lucky personas who had salmonella :( Those were the worst 3 days of my life. I was sitting on toilette almost 24 hours per day with terrible pain :(

Mediachick 10-19-2006 01:27 PM

I got this message from a friend of mine who works in nutrition. there was no dates or mention of this happening in the past... No matter if its true or not, I think its better not take any chance. dropping a brand of candy isnt a huge sacrifice to protect your kids or yourself until its cleared up.

better safe then sorry.

The Adult Broker 10-19-2006 01:41 PM

thank you! very important to know esp with halloween coming up

REßEL 10-19-2006 01:47 PM

way to go with the scare mongering - 7 products were recalled FOUR months ago. But yes.. lets give up ALL cadbury's products *rolls eyes*

Fucksakes 10-19-2006 01:48 PM

thanks for the info, especially with halloween right around the corner

Nad 10-19-2006 02:05 PM

where is all this bacteria coming from.. with all of the 'outbreaks' in the past months this is crazy!

Last i heard of this was in 92 or 91 Jack in the Box

Are you kidding?
Did you just really say no matter if its true or not?

Unless your friend just took a shit in the chocolate pot over at the factory and gave you the heads up, Pssst dont eat there chocolate for awhile. Spreading what is in essence rumors is even worse than taking a chance.

Also when and whom determines when it is "cleared up"?

So, I checked the Cadbury website, and this is what I found:

http://www.cadbury.co.uk/EN/CTB2003/...ll/hoax_email/

Hoax Email Notice

Official notice from Cadbury Trebor Bassett - 4 October 2006

We are aware that an email has been circulating that suggests that Cadbury products which were the subject of a limited recall in the UK and Ireland in June 2006, will be dumped in markets outside of Europe. This statement is entirely untrue.

In June 2006, as a precautionary measure Cadbury in the UK and Ireland conducted a recall of a small number of product lines sold in the UK and Ireland because there was risk that a very small number of these products may have contained traces of salmonella.

None of the affected batches were exported by Cadbury to other countries outside the UK and Ireland.

Cadbury identified the source of the problem, rectified it and arranged for the removal of these products from sale in the UK and Ireland – any recalled products are destroyed with independent verification.

The recall of the affected products in the UK was completed by August 1 and following notification to the UK regulatory authorities, new stocks have been on sale from that date.

We would emphasise that no products exported or manufactured outside the UK and Ireland were affected by the recall and consumers can continue to enjoy Cadbury products with confidence.

CaptainWolfy 10-19-2006 03:39 PM

bump for you!

Oh jesus christ here we go again.

Mediachick 10-19-2006 04:24 PM

To everybody that think this thread is almost criminal or that think it is stupid to care about such thing when you hear about them; I dont know if you're aware that situations like these can be real and happened to the point of killing dozens, even hundreds of people-kids, old people, healthy ones of all ages because of bacterias such as e.coli, or situations like the toxic choc syndrome that happened with the consumption of products used daily by most people.

NOw I havent trown out this thread without any information; a friend of mine that works in that area of expertise and that I trust gave me this info this morning and after reading a text on a governmental site, there WAS mentions of the situation being true so it could be accurate that it is still going on.

If you think it is stupid to think that this situation could occur to yourself and especially your own kids, then you are not making any sense. I havent said the aliens were coming to earth to eat your brains out. I stated a warning of the possibility of a desease spreading.

Again, sorry if I disturbed your quiet little peace because I care.

Thats all.

Sarah_Jayne 10-19-2006 04:27 PM

they had to recall a ton of chocolate in the uk earlier this year

JaneB 10-19-2006 06:43 PM

Cadbury makes the best chocolate eggs. I love those things. Thanks for the heads up.

reynold 10-19-2006 06:51 PM

Thanks for the heads up but this thing has been on the internet for several weeks now. I even heard these stuff are being distributed mostly on some third world countries..

MyNameIsNobody 10-19-2006 07:23 PM

I am typically very far from harsh to people. This sort of shit gets under my skin. There are many ways to post something here without getting negative opinions, it is done all of the time.

Now you took a word of mouth story from a friend who is some how qualified in their industry, claimed you did some Government fact checking on it (another source is always good) and then posted the facts that you concluded.
Needless to say you are or should be an "Internet specialist" so you should know about such BS claims. Therefore you should know to post some link to your Government information. You should research it some and not be quick to just spread it even more.
Before I even jumped your shit, I went and did a very simple Google search for keywords Cadbury hoax. Walla, real facts.

Before any high horse is climbed on or what not. I am what they call infirm or at risk for such things. It is not that I do not give a rats ass about kids. I just also can see a larger picture, one that is gruesome. People believing you without even checking for themselves and spreading this lie even further.
You talk about caring for people. What about the owners of that company, what about the people that work there, what about their kids, what about the stores that may not sell their merchandise due to such hoaxes. Specially in a critical time of the year when many candy companies make a good portion of their sales.

Odds are you had the best intentions, though as the saying goes. The path to hell is full of good intentions. So think about reactions and others outside of your world and try to include everyone else's.
