just because a job is eliminated doesn't mean a worker went out the door.
if your job was eliminated you could very well wind up doing something else in another department in the same company. it happened to me.
"eliminating jobs" is the line of bullshit feed to the idiots who buy the compnies stock. it boosts the price of the stock.

Another take on that... Someone at a large adult company told me, "the companies in trouble, there might be layoffs." I had to tell her, "Nah, your company is fine, you're the one that's fucked."
