My sister got a ticket for jay walking
 

:1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh She always told me they took it really serious in Seattle, but I couldn't believe she actually got a ticket for it! She called yesterday morning when she was leaving court, she got out of it because the light was just blinking and she thought she could make it. The judge told her she could let her off this time, but NEVER again! They take that shit serious in Seattle!

They were doing that in NYC for a while. People started getting so pissed off and annoyed that I think they kind of stopped.

what a fucking laugh.. I guess the police have nothing better to do.. Forget the murderers and drug dealers.. Jay walkers are the real problem lol

yeah, I guess they have to much timeon their hands and not enough real crimes. What BS! She should have told the cop she has a heart condition and can't make the light in time! lol

I've never been served with such violation. They aint so strict here but never will I give them any chance.

that sucks, the fine is few $100

She's just lucky the judge gav her another chance.

i was stopped 5 times by a law enforcer in ohio for that crap

they asked me for the reason
i said "well i am from amsterdam"

4 of the 5 said "aha.. you cant help it"

...Being from Seattle I can relate. I've never seen someone get a J-Walking ticket but it sounds about right...

HOWEVER...i must say...its nowhere near as bad as it was where I went to college...BOULDER, CO. Seriously...if you wanted to run for Mayor there...You could win if you made promises for pedestrian rights! :1orglaugh

She should have got the max jail time. Can't you see the trend here? Next it will be felony littering, then before you know it she will have murdered a family in Ohio for their previously owned SUV.

Generally it is dumb but I actually think they should introduce it as a concept in London. I swear people here have no idea how to cross the street or what 'walk' and 'don't walk' signs mean.

well if ppl can't follow such a simple concept as " don't cross when its red" what sort of world are we living in ? i mean how hard is it to follow such a simple thing ?

I make jay walking a sport. A successfull jaywalk is if you can reach out and touch the car passing in front of you.

Seriously, it's your own incentive. People walk to their own adgendas.
