Despite that, I know of a good number of amazing folks in the US - they are 100% genuine and open, well-mannered and they do have plenty sense. Two in particular, I'd trust with my life (it's their biz).

The way I see it:
There is a need for contrast, the need for the working and or uneducated man to do the work that the great minds come up with. It just does not work the other way.

One thing that prob is a source of concern - and it's a generalisation, is the apparent lack of protest or objection. It may be folks have little to say, but that can permit others to impose control or whatever - and that is often not in the interests of the majority or the country. (Current example is of abuse and assumed powers by the current admin et al)

Only my :2 cents:, but I've never lived in a country which had that degree of "acceptance" - and almost a trust given to those in power. Elsewhere in western and several developing countries, they would be strongly opposed - and in some nations, thrown out of office. Where we operate now, the govt dare not go against the consenus or slip thru strange laws, else there is an option to have them removed within 30 days. This is also a country which is rated as having the "best example of democracy in action", despite it is still a developing country. The folks here are certainly not "protesters", but they seem to know what is best overall and expect this from their elected leaders. (Tho nothing is perfect - corruption is not unusual, but usually over monetory gain than any political slant or attempt to impose controls.)

Well we are not all stupid. Just about half of the country is dumb as hell.
