Why cant cordless phones hold a fucking charge?

Almost every year i purchase a new cordless phone for home and the battery is dead after only using it for few minutes a day, meanwhile my cell phone lasts for 2-3 days and i use it a lot more.

Something is not right here.

buy higher end cordless phones?

GrouchyAdmin 10-18-2006 03:16 PM

Stop buying your shit out of someone's trunk.

WarChild 10-18-2006 03:17 PM

Cordless phones are so cheap these days. Unless you're paying for a decent high end one, you can't really expect too much.

High-end cordless phones will only last around two years before their batteries go to shit, it is just the nature of batteries. The cheaper cordless models will last about three to six months then go down quick from there.

Ni-MH

That's what you need

When it comes to phones i usually spend the extra bucks to have a half dececnt one. This is the recent phone i bought 5-6 mths ago and it is completely useless.

Noticed that as well. 2 panasonic phones both die within minutes after 24 hours of charging and replacement batteries :disgust The quality has definitely gone downhill since I was little. I don't remember our cordless phones ever losing charge back then. :(

....because the battery is dead?
My cordless is 6 years old - just replaced the battery last year as it was giving only 30 mins of talk time. Now it gives at least 10 hours of talk time, as it never gets docked for at least a week...and boy can the missus talk....

Don't need cordless here. The phone sits next to the comp anyway, and i'm sat here most of the day...

My uniden DECT phones hold a standby charge for at least a few days. Longest call I've been on was about 90 mins and there was still plenty of juice. They're 18 months old now.

mass production shitty quality

yup, got the a couple of uniden power max phones, kids leave them off the chargers for days at a time and they still have a charge and work fine, mine are over a year old, got them at costco, cheap

Aren't all phones mass-produced?

camgirlshide 10-18-2006 04:37 PM

I like the high end vtech's. I figure they must have learned something from buying AT&T/LU consumer products.

Spunky 10-18-2006 04:41 PM

I always put mine back in the charger after I use it..doesn't seem to screw up the battery

marketsmart 10-18-2006 04:43 PM

you should buy a new one...

gooddomains 10-18-2006 04:44 PM

because it's fucking crap
