South Florida, moving soon from Orlando need help.

Well, the time has come and the fiancee has spoken. It looks like I will be moving out of Orlando in the next few months and on my way to South Florida. The fiancee wants to be closer to her family and I of course will be going along for the ride.

I know a lot of you webmasters live in South Florida. I'm just wondering if you know any good places to look in either Miami or Ft. Lauderdale area on the beach with good views. I am trying to find a place down there. Probably going to be renting, so if you know a good area just let me know the name. Your help is much appreciated.:pimp

bump for the S. FL webmasters.

Right now, finding a place in S Florida isn't very hard.

Sounds like you want the Ft Lauderdale area, which I would suggest. Miami sucks for living, great for visiting.

There are literally like thousands of condos on the market in Ft. Lauderdale now, both downtown and by the beach. Im sure lots of those owners would be willing to rent until someone buys.

Yo man hit me up on ICQ.

I lived between Melbourne and Orlando for over 13 years. Now I live in both Ft. Lauderdale and the Keys. It's all one big metropolitain area from West Palm down to Homestead. I95 and the Turnpike connects everything. What you need to consider is a) price b) distance to amenities (schools, shopping, beach, boatramps, parks, museums, etc) c) lifestlye d) Highway access. If you can answer all of these, then I can tell you some places to look.

Sunrise Harbour on east sunrise two blocks from the beach is the best for the buck

living in the lap of luxury.

Thanks all, I have ICQ, but I'm at a client's office right now and don't have my number. You can drop me an email at mdavisinc @ gmail.com and I'll get on ICQ with you later today to discuss it. Thanks for all the help.

Not necessarily Lauderdale, but somewhere between Palm Beach, Boca Raton area down to Lauderdale. My future mother-in-law lives in Coral Springs.

We may be buying down there soon too so this thread is perfect.

Good luck with your move.

the farther south you go, the more florida sucks. i wouldnt want to be much further south than boynton beach

I like Boca Raton. The area is very nice and I have some friends that live in Mizner Park there. Very nice place.

You can find alot of places in Coral Springs. Though you would die in this city from sheer boredome of living in suburbia.

Boca is a better choice.

I live in Coconut Creek which is about 7 mins from the beach and is nice, Ft.Lauderdale is great, Boca Raton isn't bad at all either. There are tons of condos all about and the apartment communities are more like country clubs (mine is one of them). The closer you get to the beach the more the prices go up though, and I have a friend that pays as much for his one bedroom as I do for my 3 bedroom just by living 6 miles closer to the beach. Congrats on the move, and best of luck!

You can probally get a best deal from a condo owner looking to rent or sell because of the glut of units on the market.

PornHero 10-18-2006 08:47 AM

I like Fort Lauderdale, I live on the intercoastal in the heart of Las Olas Blvd (near the Cheescake Factory) about 5 minutes from the beach in one direction and 5 minutes from the bars in the other direction...:thumbsup
