Depends where you meet them... if you're going to Canadian conventions, chances are you're going to meet alot of Canadians...

Canada is a highly technologically advanced country where children start using computers in kindgarten (they surf the net in school in grade 1)... It's fairly natural for there to be that many people online in a country like that :)

Also, Canada seems to have a more relaxed regulatory view of adult entertainment. USA is more uptight about sex.

We're just bigger perverts up here. We get naked together cause it's fun, not to stay warm, as is rumoured :winkwink:

Is it a serious explanation? What is the population of Canada? I think its small compared to US, so it should be higher % of Canadians dealing with porn?

... when this all started out, the exchange rate US to Canadian money made this an insanely profitable business for us. Our relaxed laws on sexual material and reasonable cost of living make this a pretty good deal.

That is also why there is a fairly high concentration of Australians in the business, because they too profit from a rather beneficial exchange rate.

I'm sure the fact we were one of the first North American countries to get faster connections helped the ratio of porn freaks too.

And yeah, the laws seem a little less uptight over here about bare titties.

I think Canadians in general are most similar to Americans - same language, similar culture, same timezones, same views on sex, so it makes sense u hear from/about Canadian webmasters more than others, but i am sure there are many other webmasters from other countries too...:2 cents:

its not the size of the country but the attitude of the people that matter. As said the technology is of a faster pace up here, the people are more relaxed when it comes to sex - and finally the dollar exchange was beneficial to us until recently.

I hope you can get your mind around that - we simply enjoy a more relaxed, less regulated, less fingerpointing and higher technology per home than most countries. Our cable and telephone network system up here already comes with high speed internet for a cheap price

It's something in the air up here, maybe a lack of pollution... it makes us all horny like snow rabbits, but we're intelligent enough to use birth control so our population doesn't zoom out of control and spin us into becoming a 3rd world country.

Canada has about 35 million people now... However Canada is one of the countries in the world with the highest personal computer per capita ratios. Basically EVERYONE here (outside of extremely inhospitable rural areas) has access to high-speed internet, and basically every home has a PC. Not only that, the culture in Canada is much more open with regards to sex.. it's not demonized here as it is in the us, it's a culturally accepted form of recreation (even on-premise swinger's clubs are legal here, some of the biggest consumer sex shows are here, we have TONS of sex shows etc on regular media). I am seeing a massive surge in Canadian surfers paying for porn.. Especially with the dollar being worth so much compared to the american (it hovers around a 10 cent or less difference these days).

I was in igloo construction for 3 yrs before the market went south. (they outsorced the plant down to Mexico)

Porn was the only logical choice!

Maybe we just like porn :) interesting question
