All of the very wealthiest acquaintances I have ever known wear Swiss Army watches or no watch at all. Because most of them are actually cheapskates, and/or they're comfortable enough with themselves to not give a shit what's on their wrist.

The Rolex flashing assholes who pretend to be rich are actually wearing something that represents a middle class necessity. Watches are rarely worn by the upper class as time isn't really a concern.

So I went over to the forbes list and looked up the ten richest people in the world currently and went through google images looking to see who among them wear watches. While it wasn't a perfect sample - it does reflect that a great % of the wealthy do still wear watches. And when you're among the richest and most influential in a society - your time becomes more valuable and important - not less. They have more scheduled events, meetings, etc to hit ... not less.

I've worn a rolex for nearly 20 years and it's never once lost time or required any maintenance.If I ever lost it or had it stolen,I would get another one without any hesitation.
