Would You Register a .net or .org If?

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone would register a .net or .org if they would be available on a domain that is allready registered under .com & gets about 600 000 hits a day & did not register the .net or .org?

Ok lets say gofuckyourself.com only registered a .com and not the others and are getting 500 000 hits a day, would you jump and get the gofuckyourself.net or .org & what kind of free traffic would you be expecting?

Thanks

Just on the legalities of it

ie person X has registers ilovedomains.com but never bothered with .net or .org, and you come say 6 months down the track and buy them.. whats wrong with that? You havent at any stage prevented them from getting them, and so long as your not infringing their copyright is there any issues with it? Can they force you to hand it over?

Unless the domain is a trademark I think you can register the .net or .org no problem. Registering the .com does not automatically make you the owner of every extension of that domain.

i registered a .com
some guy owns everything else.
didnt trademark his company :1orglaugh

I would recommend that you go and get the name listed as a trademark for your company if you grab a .net or .org We are in the process of getting the trademark for our business side hosting company, we own the .com, we had some other folks grab the .net and .org back before it was popular to get all 3, so we never did. Now the damn things change hands like every year or so. So we are going to the expense of doing a trademark on the general name, and we will then be able to file with netsol to get the .net and the .org, so if you haven't trade marked the name with .net and .org the original owners of the .com may come back and bite you in the ass later on by simply getting the trademark :)

That is bullshit! If someone has a .net setup you plan to trademark the .com several years later and expect them to lose their site?
If they registered the .net .org before your trademark I doubt you can snatch it.

1. I hope you lose the legal battle.
2. I hope the .net owner slits your throat you fucking lowlife scumbag.

i agree with you LoveAsianChicks

If you snooze you loose... why should someone loose their domain cause someone wasn't forward thinking?

I'm sorry that you feel that way, but the only reason that they picked up the .net is because of our popularity. It has also been almost 2 years in the making with us getting the trademark, in case you've never gone thru the proccess it's not an overnight thing. We owned the .com before you probibly even thought about surfing the net, so I guess that my response to you is to gofuckyourself since you have no idea what your talking about. If you buy a domain name simply for the purpose of riding on the coat tails of what someone else has built then you deserve to have it taken away from you !! :321GFY
