cordovan is a different curing process for leather . . instead of brine the hide is rubbed with 'vegatabale oil' by hand everyday

here's the deal . . I'm very hard on my shoes 'cause i wear them shooting locations . . right now I can't really afford to spend more than 300-400 on a pair of kicks . .the italian shoes i've looked at are about 500-600 and up . . plus they don't have the support the allen-edmonds do . . I'm what ya would call a 'big guy' . . the iti shoes go a bit better with the 150lb guys that the 220lb guys . . maybe when i don't have to do physical work and I'm making more $$ I can go iti but not today . .

Mr Wanton. Two words, "Get Converse Chuck Taylors" I have lots of pairs of Red ones and they offer little to no support for my 200LB+ frame. I get ingrown toenails from them and my feet soak thru even with the smallest of water puddles.

I guess it depends if you dress up all the time..I would say they aren't really a casual shoe
