Do you eat in front of the tv?
 

Can you only eat with the tv turned on or do you prefer to eat in a quiet room without any distractions?

I have a nasty habbit of turning the tv on everytime I sit down to eat. The other day I left it off and it was a bizarre spiritual experience, I actually enjoyed the food better.

More than I should...

Depends on the situation. If I'm visiting family, we eat, but don't talk while we're eating, so usually a movie gets plugged in to break the silence.

At home, however, I usually just eat at my desk.. more so since I disassembled my kitchen table.

i can't remember the last time I ate alone NOT in from of a tv or pc, but I agree, you enjoy food more when you eat in the quiet

Usually always have the tv on when i eat. It's about the only time i actually watch the tv...

i prefer eating with some.. while watching or not..

My girlfriend and I usually eat together at the dining table (no view of a TV), but with our schedules sometimes we do eat in front of the TV (usually if I am late home and want to watch an Arsenal game).

We also eat out often so we have no TV option then.

I like to chat over food and enjoy the time as a social happening, not TV watching, or silence.

I almost always eat in front of the PC

hmm... it's not a bad idea not to sit in the front of tv while eating... I don't know when did it happen last time :Oh crap

Doctors say you can't eat and watch TV. You need to think of the food and eat it. I do not stick to this rule.

but I live alone, so there's noone to talk to when eating, so it sucks, so I prefer to eat in front of the PC ( have a big desk so its very comfortable ) f.e while browsing GFY

We usually eat at the table with no tv on, but if we are running late and some evening shows are on we eat in front of the tv.

I hate eating with other people - I find it as good experience as shitting with other people, fucking weird, isn't it? unless going out, then I enjoy company

so when at home I eat alone, I close the door to the yard so the dog doesn't watch me either - that bugs me as well, turn the tv on (not always) and enjoy my food

on my days off i do.. it saves time to eat dinner and catch up on my tivo at the same time. :)

I've used my dining room table once in the last 3 years. All my diners at home take place in the living room and on the coffee table

sometimes i eat in front of the tv but i realized when i do that then i eat very fast and i'm hungry faster than when i just focus on eating.
