I guess they have figured out how to use the comment box to send out spam emails.

Anyone know of a solution that can just be done at the server level by chance?

Comments are always disabled in my blogs. I hate moderating comments.

That is what I am being told, although I can't find any exploits unless you count the contact form plugin.

make sure to update your installation from time to time, it's really easy and done in like 5 minutes. As far as I know, you are safe if comments are disabled...blogging may be about posts and comments, but I never saw any useful comments on any of my adult blogs when I had them in moderation mode, just shitloads of spam.

I thought that Akismet was a comment spam issue, not a send out email spam issue

I have one blog with comments disabled that I get an email to morderate comments to it within minutes of every entry I make.
