Anyone mountain bike at all?
My Friends are getting into it and was wondering what a good bike is for this and any tips.

How long is a piece of string?
It depends man. You can spend $100 or $10,000 on a bike. What's your budget and what sort MTBing do you want to do? Dirt jumps? Downhill? Freeriding? XC? |
i got a mountainbike for daily exersise a while ago i just ride on normal road... paid about €110 for it got a discount due to connections ;)
|
I do.. but I have nothing fancy.. for it will get trashed on the mountains around here. You will have to make a choice of a bike with "shocks" or one without.. I prefer the one without.. I dont like all the bounce.

I use to, no time nowadays.

I haven't tried mountain biking yet, and never really had plans of getting into it.

If you want to go a little off road you shod get a hard tail front suspension bike. Dont buy the cheapest bike. It will brake to quicky - especially if you ride it a little hard. Katinka:upsidedow |
Sorry for the spelling errors, someone has moved my keys around:)

paid about 300 bucks for mine, but after being in mild use for a year, it starts falling apart

I need suspension sine they go downhill allot. |
Depends on how you want to use it.. Downhill only? Regular mountainbike? Are you going to use it often and hardcore, or just every once in a while for a nice ride..
Gary Fisher, Cannondale or Klein, with Shimano XTR or XT on it.. that's the best of the best imho.. but if you settle with 'less', LX is also very good, and cheaper.. |
