Local Police issue.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=viHU3igaUfI
Basic background. Concert in park, organizers say all permits were obtained and in order. (still unknown). Police say no permit, then again they also said some other BS on local news about "unsupervised events of these types of people". Have not had any real good local drama recently so this could be good. Specially right around election time. P.S. Video is pretty non dramatic, just some arrests, dragging, that sort of shit. |
Well, they were told to leave.

Problem revolves around why the police wanted to shut down the event in the first place. By all accounts it was a peaceful event that was organized with no issues. |
do it today, tomorrow it will be illegal

But the video doesn't show that. |

Almost dead certain it was friday, since I remember the news covering the start of big bike weekend during same show. |
okay if they had permits why didnt they show em ?
if they where asked to leave why didnt they leave? if you do not have a permit you cant hold an event in the park .. no matter how much a "good person" you are ... then harrasing the police? GJ fucking morons i hope they get raped in jail |

From what I understand, police came and stopped event without telling or explaining why. When people kept asking why they were stopping the event, arrests then started. Others asked why they were getting arrested and then more arrests for sticking around and asking. Local news suggested that nobody asked to see any permits. As for harassing, I think asking why you are being arrested really is not harassing the police. Seems like a fair question to me. |
OK it officially has gotten better.
They had a permit for an all day skate/bike event and concert in the park. It was also sponsored by a local church. Park management had not faxed the police a copy of the permit. Police had received 5 phone calls about loud music and some vulgar language. Police are scrambling to contain this fast. Specially some stupid on camera shit and stuff officers said. Started with "they did not have a permit". They had also said "this type of music illicit's violence, bad behavior, and brings in the wrong element". Then they went with "There was a children's soccer game going on and the kids could not hear the whistles". Now they are citing a city ordinance that says "profanity used to illicit a response is illegal". Oh and um one kid was arrested for asking for an officers badge number. Officer responded with sure you can get it in court and then arrested him. The others either for resisting arrest and or loitering in the skate park. Seven arrests in all. |

More likely he asked for the officers badge number, and when he was told to leave, he asked again for the number. that is refusing to obey a lawful command, and is arrestable. |
Honestly, who fucking cares?

The responses by the police are the on screen ones police have given. I am more just laughing at the excuses and back peddling right now. Oh and apparently cussing to illicit a response is illegal. Always figured that is why someone uses a vulgar word. |
