I have done a little programing for wap great php support in it, mostly just just stuff for stores who want mobilie access like wireless access to online stores, ability to check website stats etc, however I know there is atleast one porn company which has porn for palms, and once everythign goes color and new 3g phone standards will hit the US wireless porn will explode.

That will take a while for you guys....compared to Europe the US
is a third world country when it comes to mobile phone networks.

wireless porn will be a huge market, there are no industry leaders yet, but in a couple of years this will be the next big thing, I have coded wap and it has a lot of potential. Also as website surfers will demand countless amounts of video etc, wap will use up much less bandwith and you will be able to charge users more.

The newer pda's hav microsoft browsers built in... The future is almost upon us thats for sure!

I can see mobile phones to be used for payments, shopping,
reservations, games, dating, information.....but who the fuck is
going to watch porn on a 60x60 screen.....exactly...nobody.

Not even if they screen size increases cos it will still be too small.
People with laptops? Where while sitting in the train or in a
crowded place....nopes...in hotels? No soon each and every hotel
will offer highspeed wireless internet access.

I think wireless internet by mobile phone will have it's services
related to our industry but it will not become the medium itself
that will carry our content.

Someone told me that the newer cell phones will be coming out with wider screens for such purposes.

"WAP" will use less bandwidth because it simply has less usability than HTML.

WAP is not the actual movie. WAP is a protocol, which uses WML as it's markup language.

movies will still have to be sent in some sort of format like mpeg, wmv, etc.. if one is specially tailored for mobile devices it will still take up a shitload.

you ask yourself this.. are you gonna wait 20 minutes so you can view a porn movie on a 2x2" screen in a public place? mobile porn is pointless in my mind.

i'd like to know where you came up with this idea that the "wireless porn market will be huge" - there are no big leaders yet because it's pointless.

There will be a market for it in the future. Imagine some guy sitting bored on a train comuting to work. Or while work, with companies tracking computer activity it will start to become larger, there are already sites such as avantgo which offer wireless newsletters, sites. Also wireless books why not porn? Sure it wont be as huge, but there will be a market and you can charge a lot more than for paysites. Also expenses will be smaller since you will use much less bandwith

People will accept smaller size movies on pda, and with increase in bandwith capability you will not have to wait for 20 minutes.
