Tgp Galleries - Wmv Or Mpg?
 

Hey all

We are looking at TGP gallery options for affilates. Both hosted gals & submitted affilate gals.

I've seen a few major programs moving there hosted galleries to high 1500kps WMV's and was wondering what TGP owners thought of these?

Would you TGP owners accept 3 x 20 sec 1500 kps WMV's at 640x400? Or are you still only taking standard mpegs? (usually 600-900kps mpeg1's)

It would cost us more to offer the big WMV's in bandwidth but the benifit would be for both the tgp offering nicer bigger movies to visitors and to the program owner in higher conversions.

Hey, we asked the same question....They prefered MPEG's, because cheaters can use WMV to add DRM, popups etc...So in other words, most MGP's TGP's will decline WMV movies...

Ahh interesting. I guess the same wouldn't be said for hosted galleries then as they trust the programs not to do anything like that.

I only use mpg, would love to use wmv though I can get better quality for the same size out of it..

Exactly wmv's are a nono due to those things or we'll atleast on my movieposts. :)

Yeah regarding wmv's on FHG's that would be cool with me and many more I am sure. :)

Perhaps you could try flv format(flash video)-quality is good,everyvone has flash on their browser,and it load fast.Wmv suck if you ask me,i avoid it as hell.

Both mpg and wmv are almost 100% listable everywhere. Why not offer them both (if possible, of course) and let every webmaster choose his preferred format, like you have done on some WildCash content.

If both are fine, that's a lot of extra work when you're talking about a large number of galleries.

Most major sites accept WMV's even The Hun, the only real big site I can think of that declines WMV's is video-post.com

Yes as 'Fizzgig' said encoding for both is good but when your talking the amount of movies we have on Movieprofits.com its extremely expensive very fast. Just want to see what the feeling is on WMV movies before doing anything costly :)
