Surfer thread - K. Slater wins 8th world title
 

If you don't know.... this guy's on par with the likes of Lance Armstrong, Micheal Jordan... and all those other well known guys who play those easy land sports.

8 world titles!!! That's amazing.

I remember back when Kelly was just a little wide eyed kid that used to follow us big guys around in Cocoa Beach. I could tell he had potential and I have a lot of video of him as he began his competition career back around 1983. Now with 8 world titles and being the worlds best surfer....ever, I guess I need to dig up that old video as it is probably the earliest recorded video of Kelly surfing.

For those that can't relate to Kelly as a surfer and all he has accomplished, think about the fact that he gets to travel the world visiting the best beaches and every girl on the beach wants him. Some of Kelly's past girlfriends include supermodel Gisele Bundchen and Pam Anderson. Best of all Kelly is a great person and deserves everything he has.:thumbsup

Kelly is wearing a gray WETSUIT in the picture as he had just finished surfing in a contest in Spain and came out of the water to collect his 8th world title. Over the wetsuit he is wearing a red jersey which is used to help the judges distinguish the different surfers out in the waves. It was cold in Spain so he wore the wetsuit. If he was in Hawaii he would be wearing board shorts and a lei
