Notice how the article fails to call him a Democrat, but Republican Foley was mantioned a few times.

Apart from that, Studds was censured by the House for the affair, the Democrat party leadership stripped him of his chairnmanship of some committee, and the Dems didn't "let him stay" - the people who voted for him did.

Oh, and if you want to go into Studds, why not mention the Republican who was censured at the same time for doing another 17 year old? The Republican undoubtedly would have stayed in office as well, but he was voted out.
