I watched a show on TLC network about the reason Marijuana was made illegal, and it was piggy backed on a unrelated bill with the purpose of controlling mexican immigration. They should outlaw Prednisone IMO, that stuff is given out like candy and it really hurts people. :2 cents:

The film about it is even better... in the 1930's it was expected for hemp to become a billion dollar crop. The Popular Mechanics article and film went on to describe everything about hemp and how it could be used to revolutionize the textile industries. Showed how hemp was being used to make those giant ropes for navy ships. Fast forward 70 years and we?re no closer now to utilizing hemp than we were in the 30?s. :disgust

And there has been tens of studies on marijuana relating to your social life and all have been a waste of money because they couldn't prove anything they were trying to prove (that marijuana use causes you to have an anti-social life and be "slower" than the average person.)

Are you insane? I've driven 2200 miles in 3 days and smoked approximately 5-7 grams a day of medical quality weed from start to finish. Never had a wreck on weed, I dont drink and drive. Although of course people not used to it or dont know how to handle themselves cannot do this. I will go to the bank high, I can handle myself in any situation on pot.

There was a show not too long on The History Channel about the history or marijuana in the US and how it came to be illegal. very interesting. Just the usual shit... like the fight against porn. A couple crusaders, way back when, calling it a drug for hahahahahahas and junkies and no one spoke up... just like today porn is equated to CP in any and all government hearings and no one speaks up.

I was in a pissy mood a few years ago and wanted to argue with my dutch friend about the harmful effects of marijuana and was VERY surprised to see almost zero studies about it. I actually brought this up with a friend of mine the other day who runs a medical research lab and he said that simply there is no reason to since there is no government funding for it and nothing to and most medical research relies on federal funding... or private funding when its an investment in drug research. he has a masters in Bio Chemistry and i was asking him to run down the lists of harmful effects of marijauna and he wasn't aware of any other than possible effects on short term memory and quickly he then quickly pointed out that nasty shit that a typical american diet does to you.

i dont smoke weed, but i personally don't see a reason for it to be illegal. the fact of the matter is that remains illegal because its associated with an image of the ignorant, idiots and losers. the more those same idiots and losers try to talk about legalization, the more they tend to cement that very image into peoples minds with their dumb arguments, limited vocabulary and poor heigene.

thing is when you smoke pot you don't want to do anything, you don't carjack someone, you don't beat someone, and I don't remember too many times I've heard about someone stealing or being a hooker to support their marijuana addiction. The goverment cannot tax weed that is a huge reason its illegal and will be for our live times. The majority of people cannot grow tabacco or roll cigerettes, build stills to brew alcohol, or create dangerous pharmacuticals. They all kill more people in a day than weed does in a year and the goverment pushes and profits all three products plus many more dangerous ones. It is not about protecting us, there is no money in life or health. What would happen if everyone lived to be 100..lol. Weed can be grown in every back yard which leaves the goverment with no way to make money. Hence weed is illegal. I also heard somewhere that the paper industry had a big hand in paying the right people to make it a criminal offense to posess or grow weed because its cheaper to use hemp for many products.
