The Gambling law came into force today - anyone been on the Poker sites today?
I dont have them on my comp any more - I was wondering how quiet they really are now?
|
yeah i was just on party poker, seems that they have a disclaimer up that they dont accept us players deposits anymore.
|
I can tell you as much as partypoker removed the Online Users: number
so I can't tell but looked at the bigger tables, look likes theres 20k - at best online... vs, 80k normally |
and some foreigners keep saying how the u.s. market does not matter. there is a lot of wealth in the u.s. and that wealth gets redistributed all the time. this is a good example of the reality of web commerce when you stack up the u.s. vs. world.
the lindsay's of the world want to extract u.s. dollars without respecting u.s. laws. |
That sucks. But poker can't be stopped...
|
wonder how the 2bet ppl are taking it

Looks like a serious problem to all poker aficionados on this board..
|
I'm not into online poker so I'm not really affected. :)
|
I'm playing on partypoker at the moment. Although there must be less players, it looks no different to me, looks like just as many tables running as before.
Plus, since yesterday, my win rate has gone up :) |

Some US laws suck. Like this anti-gambling law. Well you still can bet on horses or buy state lottery tickets. I like to hear the Jesus freaks justify that. Are people that bet on horses or buy lottery tickets less susceptible to gambling addiction? Um...no. In fact I would bet there are more people that have an addiction to buying lottery tickets than have an addiction to any other form of gambling. But since it's run by the STATES it's ok. The US casinos are going to rue the day they supported this bill. Online gambling would have INCREASED their earnings not taken away from it. They'll realize it with 10 years. Of course it will be too alte them and it will take another 10-15 of lobbying before they finally get online gambling legalized in the US. of course by then they would have lost out on about $150 BILLION or more. Stupid, stupid stupid. |
in the real money games its a little quieter, but theres no real difference... well, apart from the almost customery "you all suck" and "i'm gonna win dawgs" comments that you usally get from US kids who got access to their mums CC.
