but in all seriousness, if it was me, i think i'd still let her know even while on the trip. it's the right thing to do, and she'll hopefully forgive you by the time she returns. if you wait, the moment she gets home all she's thinking about is seeing her cat! if you wait and then have to tell her then, wear good padding and a hockey mask!!
