Does it take forever to make money in mainstream?
 

I mean for a regular person and not a millionaire who is buying a shitload of SE traffic and has a network of links in place.

In adult you can make really good money within weeks but im trying mainstream and its been really slow, trickles. .29 cents today, .18 cents yesterday, lol.
Does it usually take a long time or is it usually faster than that?

depends on what your doing. "mainstream" is really broad.

Depends on what you are doing. I personally do very well with mainstream, but of course porn pays bigger and faster.

Those guys at You-tube have done pretty well; 1.6 billion in two years. Its all about finding the right oppurtunty.

Mainstream is a term that covers so much that it's a difficult question to answer.

If you define mainstream as building a blog or scraper pages and pushing affiliate stuff through SE traffic (be it serps or adwords) then it's gonna be tough. If you look at one of the 10,000 other ways to make good money through 'mainstream' then it's not so tough.

I'd also disagree that porn pays 'bigger and better'. I get conversions of 1-50 from a decent amount of traffic for a lot of manstream stuff. It's tough if not impossible to do that with porn any more with any consistancy. :2 cents:

You need to a work a bit at first and figure out your niche..just like in porn and then it will happen more quickly. However, even with a lot in adult it is building ahead so that when something hits the money zone you are making something else that will take that place.

Figure out what works for you. You should be ok.

mainstream -- blah!! Fucking peanuts compared to adult for me.. I tried with url redirection,, blah,,, adsense less than .25 a day
tried with guns.., fucking top SE ranks & can't even get forum members to post.. adsense = average 42 cents per day..

If I were you, I would create some automated adult sites then concentrate on mainstream.

Well depend which industry you pick and do you have money for investing in traffc.I think without invest money you need to wait forever unless you have blog where you constantly add new content and you promoting him 12 hours a day.

What types os mainstream products are you all promoting?

It depends of what you are selling. Take for instance people who buy wholesale designers clothes (a pallet usually costs $5000) and up. They then resale these clothes on Ebay and make a profit.

I've also heard of people making good money from selling Ebay.
