Should you buy links on sites with high PR but no traffic?

I bought some links on sites who have good page rank, but that have no traffic. Theyre sending me nothing so far. Its been about a week.

I dont understand getting linked by a site who has a high pr but low traffic.

Am I better off just buying traffic, or keeping these links going?

If you know what you are doing, buying PR links can be very profitable... but it doesn't look like you know what you are doing, so probably better off buying traffic or hiring a seo consultant... :thumbsup

Buying a hardlink is for PR and SEO plain and simple. You should never expect traffic from a bought hardlink. If you get some, it's a bonus. If not, too bad. Buy some advertising and get some traffic.

You aren't that wrong.

First, PR is way overrated as Matt Cutts already pointed out several times. Be especially careful in the PR6+ range, buying just one wrong link is a good way to make an established site disappear from google forever.

Second, most people forget how PR is calculated, so a PR6 site with 250 outgoing links will help your PR less than a PR4 site with 10 outgoing links...

def do your homework on any link that you buy. See how many outgoing links the site is linking too etc. Trades like that are meant for SEO reasons and not traffic.

Yep, if there is more then 50 outgoing links on the page it's almost useless.
