Help me dress as a straight male dom.

Clothing-wise, what should I be wearing? I'm on the fence about leather pants. I already own all of the accessories(whip, handcuffs, etc). Lay it on me.

Straight male and leather pants don't go together...

Straight male and leather pants go very well together. It just depends on the other stuff the guy is wearing. And also how the guys look is in general. I know many very Dominat very hetero men who often wear lether pants without looking gay.

Okay, so maybe leather pants. What shirt though? Any other accessories?

Big Red Machine 10-11-2006 06:51 PM

E$_manager 10-11-2006 08:01 PM

I've already got a studded belt for the outfit. That will be going with my leather/not leather pants. Would a black wifebeater seriously work? This shirt problem is really bothering me.

Black shirt, black cotton t-shirt without print. New Rock boots or other heavy style boots or shoes. Really do it as simple as possible, but again it all depends on how you look. If your look is a little to the feminin side keep it VERY simple.

It is not only how you dress that matters, your apperance and attitude is just as (if not more) important.

No need to wear a shirt.. Better consider wearing a mask instead. :thumbsup

I am relating more to real life situations. I have been attending fetish and bdsm events frequently for the last 6-7 years. Movies tend to stereotype dominant people.

If this is the first event thedoubles is attending it is very important that he feels comfortable if what he is wearing and that he isnt dressed in some stereotype outfit (unless it is his turnon off course!).

More experienced BDSM people can spot a newbie straight away. And if you are relaxed and in balance with yourself they tend to respect you more than if you have dressed up for the event, without coming to terms with yourself on what you are doing there.

I hope this made sence...

Thank you so much. This post and your previous one are the kind of insight I was hoping for. Looks like I'll be going with something like this. Your comments are very much welcome...

Black cotton shirt, no print.
Some kind of leather pants or zipper and strap-heavy pants.
Studded belt.
Steel-toed boots.
Flogger.
Handcuffs.
Maybe a crop, too. Might be overkill.

Anything else?

betabomb 10-12-2006 12:28 AM

i guess that could work, without the makeup...

Sarah_Jayne 10-12-2006 02:31 AM

I love how you think anyone is going to look at a costume like that and think you aren't being 'the butch'. The reason you can't bring up a mental image of a sterotypical straight Dom outfit is because there really isn't one. Whereas there is a gay one.

Sounds great:thumbsup

As I said, the most important thing is that you feel comfortable then you will be acting like yourself and not some stereotype from a bad German BDSM movie:winkwink:

A lot of Doms carry an extra bag/small suitcase with all their gear in as well. You never know what the night will bring:winkwink:

Good luck and have a great time

Hugs
