How do i stop forum spammers?
Every morning when i wake up i have to delete posts from random forum spambots i guess. I have the forum email protected like most forums. So you need to confirm by email first. What else can i do? This is getting too much. Soon it will be a mainpage full of spam. Why doesnt gfy have this?

whats your forum franck? :) :)

do you have the numeric number thingy when you signup?
like: enter this code "rf93xe3" |
Have an image verification for the posts until they reach 30 then have it unlock that feature.

If you are running a VBulletin based forum check out http://www.vbulletin.org and search for 'spam' on their board, you should find a plugin that will allow you to set a post# that will deny users from posting links until they have hit a certain amount of posts.
I have that running on all 15 of my webmaster forums right now and it works great, its cut down the time spent by mods editing or moving posts by almost 70% :) Regards, Lee |

image verification, email confirmation and if it's really bad implement admin moderation before allowing thme to post.
What forum software are you using? I found that SMF & VB don't seem to let as many spammers through. |
I had this problem for a while, so I wrote a script to manage and auto-moderate my forum(s).
hit me up if you want to know more. :) |

There is spam here every now and then though... |
don't allow links/images to be posted until a user has 15-20 posts or so.
