Does anyone use it? Interested in getting it, I need ability to stay connected to aim/icq when Im away from my computer checking gfy and being able to telnet will help too.... Anyone use them now, is it worth it?

i have a handspring visor platinum + a sprint PCS springboard. i love it. great for looking up maps while in my car, phone numbers, etc. plus, i can ssh in to my servers and fix things.

I have a navi in my car .. Is it easy to do minor coding on your handspring also how much did you pay for everything?

it was expensive - the platinum was a gift but it retailed for $300. the PCS thing was $250 and the keyboard (targus, it is elite) was $100. might be able to get lower prices on all but the PCS thing.

my cell plan is the same as a voice plan, with $5/mo more for wireless web.

i can do some code with it but since i prefer vi, it isn't easy. minor editing and stuff. ssh is non-interactive. i'm hoping someone will come out with a better ssh client for it some day..

I use a Kyocera 6035, which covers me for my phone, pager, and palm. It's killer for when I'm out and need to shell into a server to restart a service, or to check mrtg graphs to monitor traffic. The service I'm with is Alltel.com and they have what they call speachless messaging, which is basically 2way text messaging between phones, email, there's even a webpage people can send me messages. The nice thing about it is, it doesn't use up my cell phone time :) It's like $6.95/mn and I get unlimited incoming and outgoing messages. So I have my PC setup to email me stats every hour during the day so I can keep and eye on all the servers. Anyone that has both a phone and a pager should look at switching, and the palm pilot is just an added bonus, I never thought I would use the address book and the calender that much, but I'm totally hooked now, I use it to keep everything. :thumbsup
