Mobile edition of the GFY forums.
 

I dont always have the opprotunity to get access when I need it. But with the new speed inrease in mobile web. I think it would be great to browse GFY with my blackberry. I can view it now. But as some of you may know it is not very friendly.

Anyone else support the idea?

Agreed detect mobile device, remove all images and give text.

And after doing some reading. vBulletin has plugins already made for it that would allow this. I see a possible http://wap.gfy.com in the future. But I wont keep my hopes up. As we would need alot more users clamoring for this kind of feature.

Definitely a good idea. Always looking for mobile solutions, gfy would make a great addition.

Maybe something like m.gfy.com or mobile.gfy.com as well.

Well I'm happy to see that this sparked some interest. But since I'm finding this thread in the depths of the pages I don't see much support happening. Stand up gfy'ers. Ask for a mobile version. Would take hardly anything for staff to implement.

In vBulletin 3.0 you can link to external.php and pull them over as RSS or XML. Then you can use the programs on your PDA to format them properly.

RSS just cant compete with actual forum features. With RSS you can still post if the links show. But you are still tossed back to an unformatted forum that is a pain to read. I just dont think that will suffice the mobile users.

It's turned off on GFY. Too many leeches out there.

That would be great, i try to access GFY from my pocket pc and its just to cumbersome for my windows based phone. Takes forever to load

I understand why extern.php has been disabled, but its definitely a great feature
